There is a bamboo fence providing a little privacy between pool area and back of surf shop... however it is not considered private. Our friendly staff will be going about their work, and although they are very considerate of your space, you will likely hear them going about their work... There is an outdoor hot water shower beside pool, poolside toilet, upstairs separate rancho space to hang out and listen to nature- great space for the teens to chill or for you to practice yoga. Our full time staff downstairs in our surf shop are always ready to help you (so long as the retail store isn't super busy!)... email contact always attended to if you have special requests. We respect your privacy and won't come knocking on your door unless there is an urgent message... yet we are available to help when you need us. Email continues to be a good way to address issues such as malfunctioning AC or other property management problems while you are here especially if the retail store downstairs is busy! Our concierge service prior to arrival is second to none, and we recommend a little advance planning to maximize relaxation and adventure balance when you are here. Located next door to Playa Grande school, the sounds of happy kids playing are common during the morning until around 12 noon. On the other side, is located another lot owned by Frijoles Locos, and no other buildings are nearby. Renting a car is recommended for those of you who know who you are :) If a 7-8 minute walk to the beach with beach equipment or carrying a surfboard to the beach doesn't sound like fun, rent a car! If you might want to search for smaller, or different waves, definitely rent a car. We loan you straps to put surfboards on the roof with any rental from Frijoles Locos Surf Shop... so its easy and no fuss... If a 12 minute bicycle ride to the nearest decent sized mini-supermarket sounds like a drag... rent a car! If you don't like to feel isolated, ask us for help in arranging a rental car to be dropped off at your apartment - we recommend getting an airport shuttle on arrival, having a car delivered next day when you are relaxed and settled in... keep it for 3 or 4 days... use it to get groceries, to explore the greater area, to do some activities that cost SO much more if you have to include the transport eg. One Day Adventure or a trip to Playa Danta... Don't rely on public transport- the bus comes once in the morning, and once in the afternoon. Those of you who can really take a step back and take it slow, with a little adventure, can get by just renting bikes and walking around the area. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance. A taxi to Tamarindo costs around $30 one way. Rental car can be dropped off to the apartment with advance planning and parking is available on the property. Important note - the laundry facilities are operated by our cleaning lady- her days off are Sunday and Monday. One load of laundry is included free in a 7 day stay, however additional loads are $10 per load. Water restrictions are in place until further notice and we ask guests to be very conscientious when it comes to responsible management of water. We provide detailed info upon reservation confirmation. If you read the info package and decide that our policies don't go with your vacation style, you are welcome to change your mind without penalty within 5 days of your reservation.
