Millshade Garden Flat is located on the ground floor of our home - an acre of fenced landscaped garden in Prior Park Plantation Yard. We offer a unique opportunity to stay in a 100+ year old sugar plantation setting. Mature trees attract birds and monkeys. Conveniently close to beautiful beaches, restaurants, nightlife, public transport, supermarkets, shops, medical clinics and banks. Perfect for couples or friends, business travelers and families. Bedrooms are screened and have overhead fans Being at a higher elevation and away from the sheltered west coast, we usually enjoy cooling tropical breezes and have no need for air conditioning. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and there is a standing fan in the Living Room. Beds can be configured as two twins or one king, offering sleeping options for couples or just friends. The bedroom block is screened and all windows have security bars. We can provide a Pack 'n Play crib on request. An in-room safe is installed in the Master Bedroom. Many visitors enjoy a barbecue in our climate and our guests are welcome to use our BBQ. They are also free to enjoy the serenity our garden and orchard. We can sling a hammock between trees for added relaxation. The plunge pool/hot tub on our deck may be made available to guests, subject to our own personal needs. We are only a shout away and more than willing to offer advice and information on getting around. Barbados offers something for everyone. We will provide a map of the island and can help you plan your sightseeing trips and island tours. Prior Park Plantation Yard is a small residential area of nine homes. A central communal area is presided over by the original sugar mill and plantation house. The residents are friendly, many are related and can trace their Barbadian roots over 300 years. We can identify over 15 species of birds in our garden and visitors are always very aware of our crickets and tiny, harmless whistling frogs when the sun goes down. Enjoy our monkeys from a distance ... they are wild! We are within walking distance of a 24-hour Convenience Store at Sol Redman's Gas Station and to public transport stops. Travelling on our buses and ZR vans (route taxis) can be quite an interesting experience for the adventurous ... rules of the road don't always apply! Having a car is a great advantage and we can recommend reliable Car Rental companies with airport locations.
