Waterlily House, Balenbouche Estate (certified)

Waterlily is the newest of our five private cottages at the Balenbouche Plantation Guesthouse & Retreat Center. This secluded tree-house style villa with Wifi overlooks a lush valley set within a beautiful 80 acre historic plantation with two beaches just a 5 minute walk away. The Pitons, waterfalls, volcano, rain forest, diving and many other attractions are within a 15 -30 min drive. The Waterlily is a 900 sq ft. octagonal house with a beautiful hardwood bedroom, veranda and kitchen with full size fridge. The surrounding vegetation, high ceilings and other natural ventilation help keep this cottage cool year-round. You'll love the view from the hammock! Waterlily is secluded, but only 200 yards from the plantation house, where you can get wifi and meals by reservation. Activities offered include yoga and massage, tours and weddings. The entire house is yours, and you have access to our private 80 acre property, which includes a 180 year old plantation house and restaurant, an 18th century sugar mill, an organic farm, a huge park with ancient trees and tropical plants, a yoga studio, and two secluded beaches and nature trails. Our German-American-St Lucian family has lived and worked at Balenbouche for over 30 years and looks forward to having you stay with us and helping you get to know our beautiful island! Balenbouche is a great starting point to explore the island. Many local attractions, including the famous St Lucia pitons, volcano, waterfalls, snorkeling, hiking and restaurants are just within a 15 - 30 minute drive. The nearby village of Laborie offers a beautiful calm bay for swimming and several small local places to eat. We suggest renting a car for at least a few days, which we are happy to help arrange. You can also get around with a combination of taxis and public buses, or you can book an organized tour through us. The privately owned mini-public buses run 6 am - 6 pm every day except Sundays and holidays, and do not have a schedule. They operate between towns and villages like collective taxis, and the fare is set. The average wait time is 20 minutes, and you can get on and off anywhere along the road. Our buildings do not have air conditioning or screens, as they are built in a tropical, traditional and eco-friendly style. Balenbouche Estate is most suitable for nature lovers and travelers wishing to experience authentic island life.
