Exquisite 3- bedroom riverside home off the Valley's Community Trail. Above the waterfall, "Poço de Fadas" (Fairy's Well), this property has it's own small easily-accessible waterfalls for private bathing and a private trail leading the more touristy falls below. The name Kurã (cur ahn´) says it all. A week at Kurã will cure all that ails you. Exuberant forests, waterfalls, and landscapes will meld your senses and desires into a bouquet of emotional freedom, self discovery and well-being. surrounded by nature its a perfect place for someone searching for peace and tranquility. Guests will have full access to 7.5 acres of gardened grounds filled with aromatic herbs and vegetables, seasonal berries and fruits, forest and flowers. The external kitchen is a house all it´s own and is situated about 30 yards from the main house. It is set up for leisurely culinary and dining experiences and will, most like, be a second home to those who rent Kurã. The property is bordered on one side by a river which tumbles downhill over large boulders and into small pools offering, wading, head and shoulder massage and refreshing plunges into the purest of waters. There is a private trail to Poço das Fadas below and the old mills site on the river. This same trail leads to the historical Casarão (Big House) and gift shop at the Valley´s entrance. About an hour east of Caxambu is the Vale do Matutu, a lush green valley flanked by waterfalls and mountains. Most prominent among the surrounding peaks is photogenic Pico do Papagaio (2293m), which forms the centerpiece of the Parque Estadual da Serra do Papagaio. There’s some great hiking in the region. Access to the valley is via a very rough dirt road running 20km south from the small town of Aiuruoca. You could easily linger here for a few days, relaxing into the rhythms of nature, reading a good book, hiking and swimming.
