This reserve is at the end of a country road that winds through a beautiful Andean valley. There are no more houses or infrastructure after these mountains, and the several tributaries of water that spring from this reserve (beginnings of the Amazon river) are pristine and crystalline. A network of several kilometers of private trails is at the disposal of its visitors and ideal for observation of a great diversity of flora and fauna, some of which are considered in danger of extinction. You can explore the trails on your own or you can request the services of a local guide to know more about the plants, animals and the history of this natural reserve. There are paths that lead to the edge of the mountain from where you will have panoramic views of the valley, or you can choose a path that leads to the primary forest through abundant vegetation. Over the last 13 years, since its establishment foundation, the reserve has become a natural lab for scientific research and experiential education. Thanks to environmental recovery efforts and the collaboration of the scientific community, two new species have discovered on the reserve. The reserve is also home to Amauta School-a educational institution dedicated to the development of autonomous learning and scientific discovers for children between the ages of 5 and 14.
