Some of the most special features are the Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park. "The Gunks" as the locals call it. Enjoy over 25,000 acres of hiking, biking and climbing that offers a variety of seasonal activities to enjoy year-round. Take an afternoon and venture out to the local vineyards. Over 12 local wineries in the area to enjoy. The trail has an assortment of annual events, including lobster festivals, jazz concerts and more. Visit the Tuthilltown Spirtis Distillary-the only whiskey distillery in New York. The Angry Orchard is located on the outskirts of Gardiner, stop by for a tasting. Just a short 15 minute drive from the house. Additionally, the close proximity to historic towns along the Hudson Valley, such as New Paltz, Rosendale and Hyde Park. Plus many more. Sky diving at "The Ranch" located in Gardiner. Go for a jump or park and watch them land. A fun experience for all to enjoy. We are located 10 miles from the Mohonk Mt House. Go for the day and maybe visit the Spa for a relaxing massage. Being only 90 miles north of NYC you can get the best of both worlds. This is an all season area to explore summer and winter activities. We do have a dvd player and some movies available. We have a 50 inch Smart TV that you will need to use your own account to log into the different features. During winter months when we recommend having a 4 wheel or all wheel drive. Outdoor fire place: The outdoor fire place is seasonal. During winter months, we ask that you use the fire pit provided and place in front of the garage doors. The side of the house is to icy in the winter time Cell service is spotty on the mountain. There are aps available to download like Voice and Face Time Audio uses the internet. The living room has a wood stove but is NOT available for guest to use (1) with the remotes, turn on the TV, DVD player and amplifier (2) press "Open/Close" on the "DVD" remote to open the DVD tray (3) pop in a DVD (4) press "Open/Close" to shut the tray. The DVD will start playing. The volume level can be controlled with the remote that says "Amplifier" or on the amplifier itself by turning the big round knob on the right. We ask that you do not unplug or disturb any of the connections to the DVD or sound system
