Garden House Cabo Matapalo

Casas Colorado, (with WiFi, 8am to 8pm), is located in Cabo Matapalo at the tip of the Osa Peninsula, surrounded by tropical rainforests and within minutes to three spectacular beaches; Pan Dulce, Backwash, and Matapalo by walking. We are featuring the Garden House, which you are welcome to enjoy anything that is in season from the garden, including; ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, and a variety of other edibles. We are happy to offer Garden tours for our guests at no additional cost. The Garden House has tall ceilings, which keep the house cool all day long. The house has recently been equipped with WiFi, that will be turned on from around 8am until about 8pm daily. The WiFi runs off a passive solar system, so if the sun is strong it might be on longer. There is limited charging options, however you can charge small devices and external batteries at my place from 8am to 2pm There is solar lighting, which is separate from the passive solar system, comes on automatically when it gets dark on the first floor and there are 4 new solar lights, that have their own switches, which provide adequate lighting for cooking and chilling out. There is a big 6 burner gas stove/oven and new gas refrigerator that works really well. The kitchen is fully equipped and is a great space for serving up home cooked meals with friends or family. We encourage our guest to use whatever is in season in the Garden and we are very happy to give you a GardenTour. There are two hammocks downstairs as well as a couple of comfortable Adirondack chairs. The hammocks can be un-clipped so you can use the downstairs space for yoga-space !!!! The upstairs has recently been renovated and now has an open floor plan to allow for good air flow. There is a screen divider that can be set up for privacy between the beds. Two of the beds are newer orthopedic queens and the day bed or extra bed is a orthopedic matrimonial Typically you can see Toucans and Monkeys right from bed. The Jungle views are amazing. All guests are welcome to enjoy any fruits or greens from the Garden. Typically there is an abundance of ginger, turmeric, & Lemmon grass, which is nice for tea. There are some edible greens as well, right now there are three types of greens and we are happy to show you around so you can incorporate them into your meals I am available for all sorts of activities.. I offer Surf Lessons, Kayak Tours, Fishing Tours, and Nature Hikes. Most tours start and end right from the house It’s very convenient for all abilities We are located within close proximity to three beautiful beaches and the wildlife here is amazing. Backwash beach is just two minutes walking. If you are traveling without a rental car there are two "colectivos" or buses, on Monday & Friday, leaving Puerto Jimenez from Soda Thompson's at 6:30a.m. & 1:30p.m. And also the same bus leaves from Carate at 8:30 and 4:30 and stops at the entrance to Matapalo. From the bus stop it is about 15 minutes walking to here, depending on how fast you walk or if you get distracted by all the wild life. It’s important to know that everywhere here in Matapalo is completely off the grid. That means there is No The Electricity. However we make things work with a passive solar system and solar lighting. So, Bring a headlamp, as there are no street lights to light the way. Make sure you stock up on all your supplies and sometimes it is easier to buy extra so you don't have to go back to town. Also, there is limited charging capabilities at the house. I can charge cell phones for you at my place from 8am to 2pm and if you plan on using a computer the generator will need to be turned on. Typically it is only on, to top the solar batteries at the end of the day or if it is very cloudy. If your battery on your phone or your computer is weak or does not hold a good charge than this probably not the best place. Again we are completely off the grid ! Thanks
