For surfers beginners and also for swimming you'll find also there Sandy Beach. During low tide kids and families like to lay in the sandy natural pools of Playa Negra. Center of the village is at 300mts. This one is located 20kms south of Tamarindo and 27kms west of Santa Cruz, Guanacaste. Playa Avellanas is 3kms north, you'll find there a nice lounge bar on the beach, Lola's and waves of course. To have fun in the waves, sharing a beer for the sunset with the local community, observe the birds, iguanas, monos monkeys and nature, canopy, riding horses,bike trekking or fishing. Also a good base for visiting the Nicoya Peninsula and its many beaches and mountains. Independant cabina with bathroom and toilets, 2 to 3 people, 60$ a night for 2 people. Tour advices and good plans, where to rent a car, hire a surf teacher, a horse or doing a bike trekking, and more hidden places as the good places to eat and have a drink. Roads are bad in costa Rica and especially around Tamarindo. It can take you at least one hour to do Playa Negra-Tamarindo in case of rains, our district has only dirt roads, from Paraiso to Tamarindo (but they are rebuilding the road now). We strongly recommend to rent a car to be free of moving to not depend of some expensive taxis. After Paraiso and Tamarindo, public transport is non-existent. If you're looking for the crowd and for nightlife, this is not the place. Even if the place has all modern conveniences, it is surrounded with the wild, and more recommended for people looking for this kind of tourism. The bungalow, the garden, an outdoor kitchen.
