If you are thinking to experiencing the Caribbean culture and have a relaxing stay, then Cahuita is the town you must visit, and Cabinas Algebra is the place to stay. We have 3 cabins designed in a Caribbean style and painted in beautiful vibrant colors, surrounded by a tropical “paradise” garden. Without leaving our property there is a big chance to see a lot of animals! Occasionally you have the chance to see a group of howler monkeys moving through our garden. Our place has a lot of beautiful plants and animals. Always available. Our neighborhood is full of nature and animals, it's quiet and very friendly, we are located 100 meters south of a beautiful black sand beach called Playa Grande. We have a little shop that understands English (Pulperia) that is open from 7am-7pm from Monday to Saturday, and on sundays 7am-5pm. Is you follow these instructions it will be very easy to get here. (And if you use GPS). Travel by car: Coming from San Jose you need to take the “highway 32” to Limon. The journey leads you through the magnificent National Park Braulio Carrillo. It’s worthwhile to stop for a visit! You will pass Limon on it’s industrial outskirts and you have to turn right at the first crossing to “highway 36” towards Cahuita. After 36 kilometers you will find a gas station on the right side, called Penshurts. Follow the road and you will reach the police checkpoint, follow the road slowly 5 kilometers more and you will find a small blue bus stop on the left side with a sign “Primera entrada de Cahuita por la playa, Plaza Viquez”. There you turn left and follow the dirt road 500m to the end, and then turn left again and you will find Cabinas Algebra & Restaurant Bananas after 50 meters on the left side, opposite of Hotel La Diosa. By public bus: You easily can reach Cahuita by public transportation. There are direct busses leaving San Jose every 1.5 hours from the bus terminal Atlantico Norte. The company’s name is Mepe.
