Cotton House is an air b & b located in Labrador de San Mateo, Alajuela, Costa Rica. The house is surrounded by mango trees where the sounds of nature will awake you in the mornings. Labrador is a district of San Mateo, in the province of Alajuela. It's a very small and very safe rural town near Puntarenas with easy access (by car ) to all of the main beaches along the Pacific. We are also located on the way to Volcan Arenal and la Fortuna. At Cotton House de Labrador offers a lovely calm environment where each room is nicely decorated and very clean. Like most Air B & Bs the advertised rates apply per room per night, as there have been cases where people seem to think the night rates apply to the full house. Nevertheless, Guest have access to all common areas of the house. Guests can prepare their own food in our kitchen facility or order prepared food from a local restaurant. HOUSE LAYOUT There are four floors to the house. Main floor living room and kitchenette Second floor not available to Guest. Third floor: one large bedroom with two double beds and a private bathroom. Four Floor has two bedrooms with a balcony, one room has a double bed and another with a Queen Bed with a semi private bathroom. The main kitchen is outside along with a small lounge where guests can prepare food. The house is located near downtown Labrador with walking access to the park, grocery stores and restaurants. We offer indoor parking to our guests. Please advised us ahead how many parking spots you might need. Labrador is a very small rural town in Costa Rica. In pandemic times all town parties and cultural events are suspended. Otherwise, several cultural events along the year happened in this town making it quite lively. Overall, the town is quiet. When the park is open many choose evening walks and people gather in the park. Evenings are quite pleasant as the climate becomes cool so one sees families with children gathered in the main areas of the town. The best way to move around is by some type of vehicle. The bus system lacks coordination and has poor frequency. There are two other larger towns nearby: OROTINA & ESPARZA. Most guest that come to Labrador have rental cars and are either on their way or back to San Jose, la Fortuna, Monte Verde Guanacaste or other points along the pacific beaches. Public transportation in Labrador is not efficient and unreliable. However, there are people living in town who would provide a car ride for a fee.
