Travel back to the 50's in our vintage 35ft Spartan caravan! Tucked away on on the banks of the beautiful Somass River at Arrowvale Campground, the Spartan sits on 68 acres of family-owned farmland. Relax, unwind, swim and hang with the chickens. It's country livin' at its best! Welcome to the Royal Spartanette; a 35ft silver dreamboat straight outta 1951! We've put all our love into bringing this trailer back to her hayday and hope you enjoy the mid century feel of this vintage gem. Almost everything is original or of the era, right down the little Sears catalogue record player. Aside from being a real looker, the Spartanette is nestled on 68 beautiful acres of working farmland on the ferny banks of the Somass River. With easy access to swimming, fishing, hiking, bird watching or hanging with the many farm animals, there's no shortage of things to see and do. The Spartanette is also a great home base for Tofino adventures, or a stopover to or from as Tofino is just 1.5 hrs from the Farm. Come and unwind by the riverside, throw on some Hank Williams and crack a beer while the crickets (URL HIDDEN) country livin at its best! We are available any time if there are questions or problems and will troubleshoot or get someone at the farm to help if needed. The Spartan is located at Arrowvale Campground and Farm; this is the farm that Donny grew up on and that his parents still own and work. Stop in at the office and be sure to try a piece of raspberry or blackberry pie made from berries grown at the farm. Donny a mom Ann doesn't mess around with her pies...they are delicious! The farm setting is rural and beautiful...green pastures meet mossy riverbank over 68 acres. One of the highlights is the meadow we call The Maples; it's right on the river and in the middle are two huge old maple trees. It's a favourite wedding spot and where we tied the ol' knot. On the far, there are cows, horses, chickens, goats, donkeys and all the wild animals that visit day to day. Kids are never bored. While the Farm is quiet and idyllic, it is also a campground and there's always something happening! It's a beautiful location for weddings, reunions and gatherings of friends and family. We recommend having a car as you're in the country and town is a 10 minute drive away. THINGS TO KNOW - You're staying in a 65 year old travel trailer; a 1951 Spartan "Royal Spartanette". Many of the appliances and fixtures are original or of that period, and as such, have their little quirks. For example, the fridge isn't silent...bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Also, as the trailer is very old, there's a certain amount of wear and tear or "charm" as we like to think, that goes with the territory. We've cleaned it up to best of our abilities but like we said, it's older than our parents. A whole lot of time, work and love has gone into bringing this beauty back to her prime; Please treat it with respect as we'd like it to last another 65 and we love it dearly!
