Waterfront Cottage - Seaside Cottages on Salt Cay

Newly built cottage with AC located on the ocean on quiet and utterly charming island with pristine, empty beaches. Excellent snorkeling and kayaking from right off the property and some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean. *Please note you have to fly from the main island of Provo to Salt Cay via Grand Turk on Intercaribbean Airways. The cottage is one of the few options on Salt Cay with air conditioning. It has a fully equipped kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, toaster, 2 burner hot plate, small frig, and all utensils. There is a queen sized bed and hot water heater. The cottage comes with the use of 2 beach bikes and 2 kayaks. Guests have access to the entire property which is over 1/2 an acre directly on the ocean on the sunset side of the island. There is direct beach access for snorkeling, shelling and to launch kayaks. There is a charming outdoor dining room right by the ocean with teak dining table and hammock. There are lounge chairs right near the crashing waves that are great for star gazing, watching the amazing sunsets or whale watching. We live in Florida and this is our winter vacation property. We are available by email or phone and are very responsive to our guests. We have a caretaker that picks up our guests from the airport, shows them around the property and gives guests the keys. He is available by phone and lives just down the road. Salt Cay is called "the island time forgot". It is the old Caribbean at its best. There are fewer than 100 people living on Salt Cay and the island is full of history. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. There are 2 restaurants on the island, a small store with basic groceries, and a dive shop. Diving and snorkeling are excellent year round, with warm, calm and crystal clear water. From January through March the humpback whales migrate right past Salt Cay and there is fabulous whale watching right from our property as well a whale watching tours from the dive shop. Salt Cay is one of only 3 places in the world where people are able to get in the water and snorkel with the humpback whales. Salt Cay is a tiny island and can be easily navigated on bikes. Most guests use the provided bikes to explore the island and get to the restaurants, store and the dive shop (all within 1/2 mile of cottage). Golf cart rentals are available if you prefer. Our caretaker will provide round trip airport transfer for guests and luggage. The cottage is located on a small island and not on Providentiales, the main island of the Turks and Caicos. Getting to Salt Cay involves booking a flight on Intercaribbean Airways from Provo (PLS) to Salt Cay via Grand Turk. These flights have limited days of operation.
