Once in Jaco, you can walk around to most shops or restaurants or take a taxi for a couple of dollars, all is very accessible. Located 1:00-15 from San Jose and SJO Airport, Jaco is the closest developed beach town from the airport and city. On Friday there is a weekly farmers market, but there is also a large variety of fruit markets, fish markets and grocery stores. There are a lot of fun restaurants and bars to attend and watch the sunset. In regards to activities, there is tons to do – Fishing, ATVs, Zip lines, hiking, National Park Tours, Sunset Boat Tours, Island Beach Days, Nightlife, White Water Rafting, Crocodile Tours, Bird Watching, Casinos Sunbathing on the Beach and Surfing. Jaco is known for being one of the best beginner surf spots in Costa Rica for the beach breaks (sand bottom) and good waves during high tide…. Manuel Antonio, one of Costa Rica's National Parks, is an hour drive from Jaco and is a great day trip. Playa Hermosa is 5 minutes south for some additional waves. You can walk around town and the beach is right out the front door.
