10 min walk open ocean, Sandy beach, Cliffs, lake
This is a very old coal miner's house. The room has a 50" TV with full cable and is on the 2nd level. It has a double sleigh bed, dresser, and desk. No closet, clothes can be hanged in an adjoining room if needed. The shared bathroom has a bathtub with a shower head. I have a library area with a couch and a printer. You are allowed full access to shared living room that has a 85" tv. You have full access to the kitchen, laundry, living room, library, backyard fire pit with free wood. I recently purchased this house on a quiet dead end street. There are some updating that is needed. I have a brand new heat pump/air conditioner. The library area can be your own work or leisure space. There is a small deck out front with wonderful unobstructed views of the open ocean and undulating fields with a small trickling stream that is filled with deer, foxes, pheasants, eagles, hawks, ducks and song birds of all types. Within a 10 minute walk you can get to the open ocean or a big lake or a small pond or a little stream. I have a fire pit and chairs in the back and can supply firewood or a 5 min walk to the sandy beach and you can gather all the wood you want and have a fire there. The Newfoundland ferry is less than 10 min away. This is not a luxury Airbnb expierence. It is a Cape Breton coal miner days expierence. I do not have any areas off limits and I try to make everyone as comfortable and welcomed here as they are in their own house. I live here by myself and home most of the time. I grew up on a 1000 acre farm in Alberta and have stayed in many Airbnb's myself and I learned a lot from that. My highest priority is that guest are perfectly comfortable and enjoy their stay. Nothing in my house is off limits. Breakfasts items including bacon and eggs, cereal, porridge, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks, and more, are provided free. I can even cook it for you if needed. This is not a luxury stay, it is a comfort stay. I have a dual sport bike that can take the more adventurist guest on amazing sight seeing tour along the spectacular coastal cliffs and see 100 year old abandoned army sites. There is a full grocery store, convenience store, liquor store, pub, pizza place, restaurants, pharmacy, gas stations, 2 banks, 2 taverns, coffee shop, and a hardware store all within a 1 min drive. 10 min drive to NFLD ferry. 20 min drive to Cabot Trail. I have had 2 vaccinations. Isolation stays are welcome and I can help get groceries for you.
