Not Your Average Hostel/Homes offers a relaxed and comfortable stay in the heart of beautiful St. Martins on the stunning Bay of Fundy coast. Our property is steps away from numerous local attractions, restaurants, beaches and shops. Enjoy safe, comfortable and affordable private accommodations, with plenty of genuine Maritime hospitality. Our guests tell us it feels just like home. Our newly-renovated, converted two-story family home offers a cozy atmosphere with access to three full bathrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen for preparing meals (food not included, but groceries are available just across the street!). We have dining areas both inside and out and plenty of spaces to kick back and relax, like our sitting room or comfy window seat (AKA “book nook” complete with library). Outside, you can gather in the yard to play lawn games, BBQ a meal or have a drink around the fire pit. We are always a quick phone call away for our guests. We live less than 5 minutes away, and can be found working around the property a couple of times per day. St. Martins is a treasure-trove of natural wonders and charming small businesses. This quaint seaside village offers a selection of local restaurants and take-out establishments, plus everything from fresh-baked bread to delicious homemade sausages from our local merchants - or the weekly Farmer’s market. You’ll have plenty of options to keep your taste buds busy and your belly full. Famous local attractions like the sea caves, beach, fishing harbour, lighthouses, covered bridges and the incredible Fundy Trail all work together to provide a beautiful backdrop for your visit to St. Martins. From gift shops and art galleries to our local museum and a vast array of outdoor adventures, you can choose to sit back and relax with us at the hostel or venture out to explore. A car is necessary to get to us as we are a half-hour drive from the Saint John Airport (YSJ) and our community does not offer public transportation. We have plenty of parking available and once you’re here, transportation can be provided to various nearby attractions (must be pre-arranged). We have special arrangements for our guests to receive discounts at several local businesses. You’ll receive coupon cards when you arrive for your stay. For your recreational needs, we offer a selection of books from our library, board games, lawn games. Please note that although we do not currently have air conditioning, we do provide fans in each of our rooms - and you can expect to enjoy “natural A/C” from the Bay of Fundy’s ocean breeze. All bed linens, pillows, towels, toilet paper and soap for hand washing are included with your stay.
