Cottage at Davis Island
Centrally located cottage with water views. New construction, well maintained, private cottage, with water access by pier/dock. Walk over the bridge to get a lobster roll at Red's Eats and explore other shops in Wiscasset, ME. Conveniently close to Damariscotta-Newcastle and Boothbay Harbor. Take a day trip to Popham Beach State Park, head to Camden, ME, or take one of the many boat cruises off the coast of Maine, and end the day with a lobster on the back deck over looking the river. The village also gives you access to a pier and dock to tie up a boat (only for a few hours) or to launch off of to kayak or paddle board. There is a community fire pit and gazebo next to the pier. We have a garage that you can store a car, bike, kayak, paddle board, and have them safely locked away while your gone. (Not available in 2022) You'll have access to the entire house. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living space, and porches. The cottage has a backyard where you can sit on the porch and look over the river, and see some wonderful sunsets. The village offers a pier and dock that you can use. You can fish off the dock but make sure to have a fishing license! There is also a gazebo and community fire pit close to the water that guests are welcome to use. Will need to bring your own fire making products if you use it. Guests can get in touch with texting or messaging through Airbnb. Make sure to leave a message if you call. There will be people in the area if there is an emergency but for the most part guests will have a space all to themselves. We are more than happy to answer any questions! Sallie and Dave may stop by to work on the gardens out front and around the outside of the house. A small quiet village over looking the Sheepsoct river. Walking distance to Wiscasset, enjoy the small local shops and restaurants of the town. 10-20 minute driving distance to the surrounding towns of Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta-Newcaslte. We do NOT have air conditioning but we do provide a couple fans to help cool things down. There is usually a nice breeze off the river that can help cool the house. We recommend putting the box fans into the windows in the evening to cool the cottage down as well.
