Kishauwau's Starved Rock Area Cabins - Studio (Bridge) Cabin - sleeps either 3 adults or 2 adults/2 kids

Friday & Saturday nights must be booked together for a weekend stay here. It will allow you to book it but we will not be able to accommodate as we just don't allow check ins or outs on Saturdays. Airbnb does not collect county taxes so guests will receive a funds request from us for that amount. Guests of Kishauwau's Starved Rock Area Cabins enjoy the peaceful atmosphere we offer. Roomy, well spaced cabins provide the privacy our guests are looking for. Bridge cabin offers a studio atmosphere with only the bathroom walled off separately. It has 1 queen sized bed and a separate fold out futon so may have either a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults/2 smaller kids. The bathroom has a standard bathtub/shower combination so you step into the tub to get a shower. Every cabin here offers a full kitchen, central heating & air, covered porch with porch swing and personal outdoor bonfire pit with picnic table & grill. Individual cabins on a family run property. My husband and I live right on site. Our office building is left open to guests 24/7 so you can borrow movies, games, puzzles & reading material. You also purchase firewood, pizzas, ice cream, drinks, s'mores items as well as other things on the honor system. Although we have family cabins here, our property is very quiet for that peaceful, romantic getaway you are looking for. Just a 10 minute drive from Starved Rock & Matthiessen State Parks and a 20 minute drive to next bigger towns with fabulous restaurants & shopping. Guests will enjoy their home away from home here. These are individual units that have their own kitchens with personal outdoor bonfire pits, picnic tables & grills. You do not share your space with anyone. My husband and I live right on site and are here for guests if you need us. Once we check you in we leave you alone for your getaway and you come to us if you need us for something. You are provided our cell numbers upon check in and that is how you will communicate with us. Most guests do not get great cell reception here because of our wooded property. Most can text but there are no guarantees. We do leave our land line phone hanging from an easel board in our office for guests to use to communicate with us or for any non international calls. Quiet, country setting on a bluff above the Vermilion River. There is a small hiking trail along the river you can access if you ask us about it. Some people fish the bank at the back of the property as long as they bring their own bait & tackle and are willing to tackle the hill that leads to it. This is only as long as we haven't gotten too much rain as the river level will rise & flood the lower level. You would have a hard time getting an uber or taxi cab to come out here. It would be quite expensive if they did. You pretty much need your own transportation. We will allow self check ins for anyone checking in after 5pm but it will require an additional e-mail with instructions from us on that process.
