This restored 1880's farmhouse sits on a grassy double lot just a block from vibrant Main Street restaurants, bars, cafes and shops and less than two miles from Cayuga Lake. Enjoy a quiet neighborhood, the sunny south porch and large yard. We love biking the Diamond Trail to Ithaca (8 miles), swimming in Cayuga Lake, hiking the gorge trails, cross-country skiing in the Finger Lakes Fores, and the Cayuga / Seneca Lake wine trail. Four furnished bedrooms are available for guests, plus plentiful spaces for relaxing inside the Parlor, Living Room and Dining/Breakfast area with large table to seat 8-10 people. EXTERIOR: gravel driveway, with (3) separate house entrances: main entrance access door on South Porch, kitchen mudroom/foyer entrance from driveway, and private entrance for first floor bedroom suite. There is also a covered back deck, a barbeque, and large grassy rear yard. INTERIOR: The first floor entrance leads to a stair/entrance hall with a Living Room and Parlor on either side. The large country kitchen is fully stocked with cooking tools and opens to a breakfast / dining room with excellent morning light. There is a first floor Master Suite, a large Bedroom (queen bed) with it's own private entrance and small deck. The first floor also has a large Bathroom with shower and washer / dryer. The second floor has three large furnished bedrooms with closets. A sunlight filled front Bedroom with a California King bed and many large windows, a side bedroom with a queen bed and view of the large pine tree, and a large , furnished childrens' room with (4) four single twin beds. The second floor has a bathroom with bathtub/shower. The is no cable TV service in the house, but we have internet service and smart tv’s with Netflix and streaming. The windows are original and many are not operable. Please follow house instruction manual with regard to windows, A/C's, and fans. SMOKING - there is strictly NO smoking in the house, including any of the porches. All cigarettes must be fully extinguished and disposed of in the outdoor trash cans. GUEST ACCESS: we will provide information for accessing the house with an electronic code 1-2 days prior to your reservation date. Codes are changed for each guest and activated to open only at the check-in time of the reservation. The basement and attic levels, as well as (2) small rooms on the first floor are used for Owner storage and locked. Please note there is no Guest access to these spaces. These doors are labeled, please do not force doors, as some are original and can be damaged. We will be available by phone and text (if we are not in the area) and have friends and neighbors nearby who keep an eye on the house for us. The Finger Lakes region is a wonderful area for all seasons. Hiking the gorge and visiting Taughanook Falls in the spring, enjoying Taughanook State Park beach, boating and lake swimming in the summer, leaf-peeping, apple and pumpkin picking and bonfires in the fall, cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. Trumansburg is a historic mill town and has a small main street, which is home to a few small shops, cafes, bakeries, bars and restaurants, bowling alley, pottery store, library and churches. The city of Ithaca, Cornell University and Ithaca College are about 20 to 30 minutes by car, respectively. Getting to Trumansburg is easiest by car; however, there are buses from Ithaca to Trumansburg (T-Cat) and Uber drivers are available. Once in T-burg, there are many great places to bike, walk and hike.
