Talkeetna has an outstanding panoramic view of the Alaska Range that can be enjoyed and photographed from several places as you wander through town, and discover what this unique location has to offer:  Flightseeing, fishing, riverboat tours, float trips, hiking, nordic skiing, mushing, mountain climbing, ATV tours, snowmachine tours, and zipline tours, unique lodging, art galleries and gift shops, places to dine and have a locally brewed beer... and of course year-round frontier hospitality! Talkeetna is a place to enjoy no matter what time of the year! No smoking on premises, No pets. Your Safety is our #1 Concern! My 2nd Home, LLC was founded by a previous General Manager of a Wyndham Resort. She brought her extensive knowledge through years of training on customer safety to this business. She personally hires and trains our housekeepers. These are not outsourced staff; they are actual trained employees of the company. The staff at My 2nd Home, LLC is always putting our guest’s safety at the top of the list of priorities. We make sure every surface of the home is wiped down with commercial cleaners with bleach, paying special attention to items such as remote controls, doorknobs, cupboard handles, and anything within the home which are touched by hands on a regular basis. Our goal is for our guests to have a safe, enjoyable time staying at a My 2nd Home property, knowing that the home they are staying in has been cared for and cleaned by the best in the business. We provide a private, unhosted home, allowing you to really live in Talkeetna as a local. Our happiest guests value an independent experience, love small planes, and a bit of adventure. We are available by phone in case of an emergency. Talkeetna is home to the convergence of three major glacial rivers, which makes for great excursions, whether by air, land or by water. At a minimum, we recommend you choose one flightseeing tour and one river tour. Other activities in Talkeetna include zipline tours and fishing. There are also several great trails in the area to explore on your own. Just outside of town, you can walk to the waterfront and marvel at the mighty Susitna River. On clear days, enjoy views of the Alaskan Range and Denali (Mt. McKinley) as the backdrop. Also be sure to walk around downtown Talkeetna where you will find several quaint shops, local breweries, restaurants and more. There is local transportation available, tickets for shuttle service can be purchased at Talkeetna Roadhouse, Flying Squirrel, Sunshine Clinic or from your driver. Creating a wonderful experience for each guest takes time, attention and care. Because of this, we are not able to accommodate early check-in or late check-out requests. Our guests are welcome to use the designated fire pit. The indoor wood stove will not be available for use due to insurance concerns. Firewood for the outdoor fire pit can be purchased at most Alaskan grocery stores and gas stations, locally at Cubby`s or the Tesoro on the drive into Talkeetna. Please bring enough wood for your entire stay. We ask that you not harvest wood or kindling from our property or surrounding properties.
