The builing is in a quiet and very relaxing area of Tulum. Just 5 minutes away from downtown "pueblo" south from the shore along Carretera 307 (known as Avenida Tulum), 15 minutes away from the Mayan ruins and 5 minutes to the beach (Zona Hotelera), which extends down from the ruins. While there are plenty of taxis that ply every route, a fun and affordable way to get around Tulum is to rent bicycles and power yourself with your own feet. There are several large bike paths in Tulum that make biking the best way to get around and one of the most popular activities in Tulum. Tulum is 119km(74miles) aways from the airport. Taxi is always available but if you want to save some money a Car Rental is recommended to go from the airport to Tulum by taking Carretera Federal Cancún - Tulum Other mean is a bus line taken from the airport called ADO, it departs every 45 minutes during the day and evening and makes a stop in Playa del Carmen, then goes to Tulum. Once in Tulum biking is the best way to get around! You can’t go to Tulum without exploring at least a couple of the cenotes! Cenotes are basically freshwater caves, part of an underground river system. Some have cliffs you can jump off, some are great for snorkeling and scuba diving, some are enclosed caves, and others look more like lakes. You don’t have to go through a guided tour, but we recommend you do if you are doing snorkeling or diving. They supply with snorkel gear and the guides know all the cool nooks and crannies and secret cave areas that one would´ve never have ventured into if you´re on your own. They also have waterproof flashlights so that you could really see just how expansive and deep the cave system goes under the water. Lots of the hotels along the beach road will organize cenotes excursions for you that´ll pick you up and drop you off right at the hotel or maybe at the apartment. We love Casa Cenote - This is an open cenote, and is like swimming through the jungle and mangroves. There are also the ones that are ore like caves. Like Gran Cenote - It´s half open, half enclosed with all these cool rock formations along the cave walls. Also lots of little turtles swimming around. Go early to avoid the crowds. Another cool one is Zacil-Ha - This small cenote has a zip line you can ride over it and jump down into the water. A fun activity but because it´s small, you´re sorta in and out in like 15 minutes. Not a must-see, but a fun stop if you´re seeing multiple cenotes. When not cenote diving, what we love the most is having a calm breakfast and coffee at home, hangout at a beach club for lunch and during the day, then come back home to relax at the pool and shower and go dining at the pueblo.
