This room is inspired by local flavors and the era in which our home was built. Thought has gone into color choices, every piece of furniture, and use of space to provide you with the best possible experience. Come and relax. Stay for a while. You’ll love my place for the neighborhood, ambiance, comfy bed, friendly hosts, accessibility to DC, safety, free parking, little neighborhood libraries, and lots of character! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. This room is inspired by local flavors and the era in which our home was built. Thought has gone into color choices, every piece of furniture, and use of space to provide you with the best possible experience. We have collected pieces of art from local artists which you can admire while listening to the birds chirp outside. You will have the pleasure of sleeping on a queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress that you won't forget. Its so comfortable you may not want to get out of bed in the morning! Take advantage of the room's coffee maker and mini fridge or feel free to read one of the books located on top of the dresser. Make yourself at home. You have access to your room as well as a shared bathroom - both on the top floor of the house. The middle floor of the house is where my husband Kevin and I live. On the basement level, you will have access to a shared laundry facility where you can do your laundry, if needed. [[NOTE: THIS LISTING DOES NOT PROVIDE ACCESS TO OUR KITCHEN]] If you would like to include access to our kitchen within your booking, please visit our other listing: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/22611317?s=51 Upon booking, you will be given instructions on how to get to our house as well as the code to open the front door and door to laundry room (no keys!). Either my husband Kevin or I will be available during the course of your stay. We both work during the day but are very flexible and will make the process as smooth as possible for you. While you're staying with us, we're more than happy to share with you the secrets of Takoma Park - where to eat/drink, what to do/see, and how to get around the city. You won't find neighbors friendlier than you will in our neighborhood. Most folks have lived here for 25+ years and have the best interest of the community in mind. If its not the free mini libraries hosted in people's front yards, its eclectic sculptures or the other random things that make Takoma Park what it is. You'll experience plenty of wildlife (birds, squirrels, etc.) and if you're lucky you may even see a deer or two!
