All the comforts & conveniences of home away from home in the tropics on quarter acre of private ring fenced land , enjoy the white sands & crystal clear blue waters of the renowned Bathway & Levera beaches , the home of the giant leatherback turtles. Tucked away behind the main road the CDLM is peaceful and quiet with the greatest feeling of "space" yet within 5 minutes reach of activity if you need it. From the front of the cliff or the roof top the views are stunning . The Chateau De La Mer is located in St.Patricks, the most historic part of the island. off road and on quarter acre of private ring-fenced land, it sits in prime view of Sandy Island and Sugar Loaf and is within short driving distance of the Sulphur Springs, the River Antoine rum factory and a wide variety of other historical landmarks. Feedback from our customers is beyond valuable, it helps us to focus on areas where we can improve the accommodation and our facilities. As a result we are constantly upgrading. In the last two months we have uplifted the Chateau De La Mer with new furniture and fittings as well as a complete new paint job to the interior. New PVC side slider windows to all the bedrooms making it easier to open for more air and with complete mozzy nets. All guests have use of the top apartment, the terrace, the grounds which consists of quarter acre and also the rooftop above the Annex for private sunbathing which is also fantastic for stargazing and sea views. SADLY I AM NOT ON THE ISLAND MOST OF THE TIME SO COULD YOU PLEASE GIVE ME AS MUCH NOTICE AS POSSIBLE PRIOR TO YOUR BOOKING SO THAT I CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS AND PREPARE FOR YOUR ARRIVAL. What I love most about the neighbourhood is the warm atmosphere and friendly reception generated by the locals. They are always helpful and accommodating, always smiling, waving and shouting greetings depending on the time of day. It's helpful and customary to simply wave back with a smile. There are regular public transport vehicles in the form of 12 to 15 seated minibuses. These can be waved down about ten minutes walk from the house, though its often more beneficial to hire your own transport in order to have the freedom to visit the many beautiful landmarks on the island. This can be arranged with notice. A local cook can be arranged to introduce you to some of our dynamic island dishes for a small fee. She will plan the menu with you and the cost for ingredients and provisions. I urge you to take advantage of this. She is a great cook. Cars can be hired locally but a driving permit would have to be acquired at the local police station at a cost of $60 ( this may increase ) Eastern Caribbean. I use the services of a very reliable, safe and presentable driver who is familiar with the island as well as the route to the Chateau De la Mer. He can be available to pick you up from the Airport or anywhere else on the island and he will charge his own fees for this service. PLEASE NOTE THAT I DO NOT TAKE LESS THAN 3 DAY BOOKINGS. Please turn on the shower water before you put on the main switch or you will burn out the coil. Please only use the two bedrooms provided Please DO NOT encourage the dogs upstairs or in the front garden area's. The Wi-Fi details are also located on a plaque in the front room on the modem box. Please do NOT exchange cash with anyone else on the premises.
