2nd Private Bedroom for Rest and Relaxation: Minutes from Partridge & Lakeside Malls on Hall Road, easy access to I-94, M-59 & M-53, 30 minutes to downtown Detroit, 15 minutes to downtown Rochester, very spacious house with a loving dog (hypoallergenic cavapoo). Our guest bedroom is upstairs with a shared bathroom next to the room. Another bedroom in the basement with a full-bath (which is a separate listing), along with kitchen, dining, and living area (with television) can be used instead. A seven-bedroom house, you’ll have access to your own bedroom upstairs with a closet, desk, dresser, queen-sized bed and a shared bathroom. If needed, a second bedroom in the basement with your own full-bath (which is a separate listing) is also available, if you’re traveling with children. Quick and easy access to main roads, highways, shopping, restaurants which are all within a 5-mike radius. There are no televisions in guest bedrooms but there is a television in the basement. Hosts are always at home and will greet you at the door, take a picture of your identification and give you a tour of the house so that you’ll know what amenities are available to you. Check-in time is between 3-9pm unless otherwise pre-arranged with hosts. We do not give out keys to the house and so, we expect guests to be in the house prior to 9pm unless otherwise pre-arranged with hosts. Common spaces such as the living room and kitchen as well as assigned spaces are all available for guests. There is a park close by that we love taking evening bike rides to, if you'd like to accompany us. It’s a residential area so please be respectful of our neighbors and my children who go to school. Please do not smoke, drink, vape or use drugs anywhere on our property. I have asthma and do not want to go to the hospital because of an insensitive guest. Also, please do not wear your outside footwear anywhere on our carpets. We have children that crawl on our carpets and it's just plain unhygienic. The majority of our guests are long-term staying with us for a month or more. We intentionally keep our rates low because we are primarily offering a comfortable bed and a place to shower. We do have a laundry room available for $20 per use. The majority of our guests seem to be first-time Airbnb users with no reviews which means, we’re taking a chance when we allow you into our home. And then we spend a lot of time trying to educate guests on how to use the Airbnb app and how it works which makes us want to charge extra for our time. Please contact Airbnb directly on how to use their app and what kind of stipulations they may have if you’re unfamiliar with how this technology works. Also, please do not write a negative review for us if you haven’t communicated any concerns with us directly in person or via messages. We can’t guess your concerns or displeasure once you’ve checked out. We love socializing with our guests and are available to make you feel as welcome and as comfortable as possible. We’re easily available via email, text, and phone if we're not home. We’re close to Ojibwa Elementary, Seneca Middle and Dakota High Schools in a residential area but just a mile away from Hall Road where there are restaurants and shopping opportunities galore and both Partridge and Lakeside Malls are within a five mile radius. Uber and Lyft are what most people use to get around in this area if you don’t have access to your own car. There really aren’t many options for public transportation. We prefer long-term guests and most likely will not accept reservations less than three nights. It’s kind of unfortunate that I have to mention this here but it seems like some have no idea what is proper etiquette when taking a bath. Please do not soak the mat when coming out of the bath. We’re not checking bathrooms after you take a bath and soaked mats will cause drywall damage and leaks down to the next floor. So basically, if you’re not aware, please towel yourself dry in the bathtub before exiting it. Please do not wear shoes on carpeted areas. We also have a very excitable dog and so, give him a few minutes to adjust to you when you come in. There is no television in the guest bedroom but there are televisions in the office and basement if you'd like to watch cable television. Also, please do not take the liberty to welcome anyone else that has not been pre-approved into our home. They may be your friends or acquaintances but you are still guests in our home and we’d appreciate your courtesy in treating it as such. There are plenty of local eateries and other venues for you to socialize close by with your acquaintances. We seem to attract a lot of first time Airbnb guests. As much as we enjoy hosting anyone, may I share some advice. As this is a platform that is very much review-based, we as a family, are taking a chance hosting you if you don’t have any reviews and so, please interact with us in a polite, respectful manner. We are not a hotel and don’t appreciate being treated as such. Also, when writing a review for us, choose your words carefully. Any suggestions or advice should be given either in person or privately and not for the public to see. If each person staying with us publicized their personal likes and interests for us to adhere to, we’d have to quit our full-time jobs to make whatever adjustments you’re asking for and for our price, that’s just not feasible. Also, we are an Airbnb site, not tech support or someone qualified to explain how Airbnb works. I’ve had guests get angry and upset with me because they’re not tech-savvy and then accuse us of being disrespectful or unfriendly if we don’t take the time to explain everything to them.
