10 minute walk to Main Street (many restaurants, cafes, galleries, etc) 10 minute walk to Mt Beacon TrailHead. (It's not a hotel and not on Main Street: it's in a residential neighborhood) Cozy, small space set up for a couple (or solo traveler) looking for a relaxing short escape from "The Real World". A couple days here really feels likes so much longer (especially if you take a steam and a jacuzzi)! Originally a bakery built in the late 1800's adjacent to the "main house", on a large corner property. This space has been recently lovingly renovated by me, keeping lots of original rustic charm and details, with many modern updates and conveniences added. You should not consider a stay here if needing to go up the wooden stairway is a concern for you: It's fine for most, but if you have mobility issues or are uncomfortable with a very old, potentially slippery, wooden staircase that is the only way to get to the bedroom: you may want to reconsider. You have your own beautiful little private yard. There's a gently babbling stream, table/chairs, herbs and flowers, with Mt Beacon a few blocks away. (Stream not running in late fall/winter) Since I personally have always dreamed of living in a hotel, my goal has been to make this place have all the things that are appealing about a luxury/boutique hotel/inn: super clean, freshly laundered quality linens, upscale & modern amenities, uniquely decorated. All this while also having the added bonuses of being very private with total autonomy, in a quiet neighborhood, lots of character, a fully-functioning and stocked-with-basics kitchen, a beautiful yard and comfortable cozy spaces to enjoy. It's a small place, but certainly more spacious than most hotel rooms and with way more amenities than most; SO much better! There are two floors. 1st floor is the small open living room/kitchen with a 1/2 bath. There is a stairway open at the bottom leading to the small 2nd floor with bedroom and full bathroom. Luxurious spa-like bathroom: Large glass shower with Steamist generator to turn it into a steam sauna, with rain shower head and body sprayers. There's a wood bench to comfortably lounge while you take a steam. Relax in what might be the deepest soaking tub ever, with heavenly water jets and epsom salts for a therapeutic bath. Chill out in plush super-soft cotton shawl bathrobes (always freshly laundered). Enjoy lounging just outside your bedroom on the small balcony overlooking the yard and serene neighborhood. Queen mattress with luxury linens and lots of pillows. A true "Chef's Kitchen" (I have a restaurant in Brooklyn) with everything you may need to enjoy some meals in your own private getaway (don't miss going out too for the great food and restaurants in Beacon and the area.) There will be basic pantry stuff (organic coffee, olive oil, salt, spices, many condiments, etc.) available for you to use freely. I always stock the fridge with seltzer and filtered water for your stay. There's an awesome Viking range and powerful exhaust fan. Blender, drip coffee machine, espresso machine, dishwasher, etc. etc. There is a gas grill for cooking outside; walk 6 minutes to Barb's Butchery and check out the amazing local selections you can cook up for yourself. Roku TV's in bedroom and living room/kitchen. After booking, you'll have access to the "House Manual"; there is so much useful info in there! Not suitable for children under 13. -You have off-street parking if you're driving. -You have access to the small landscaped side yard just outside your door I can try to be there to greet you for check-in if you'd like, but the place is set up so you'll be able to access very easily on your own. (IF you read the self check-in directions!) Also, you'll be able to check out on your own. If I'm not right there in person when you need anything, I will be available via text/phone/email/airbnb message most all the time for any questions you may have. ** I really appreciate a quick text to let me know when you have checked in on your own and also when you have checked out. Thank you! Quiet and beautiful neighborhood, but basically very close to all the local "action": walk less than 10 min to Mt Beacon to hike, then later walk less than 10 minutes in the other direction for the Main Street attractions. Just be aware that this is not a hotel, not ON Main Street; it's in a residential neighborhood with neighbors all around and about a 10 minute walk to the closest stores, shops, restaurants. If you drive, it's a couple minutes to anything you may want in Beacon. Walking, it's minimum 10 minutes to the beginning of the "social scene" of Beacon. Take the train and be car-free: It's just about 2 miles from the Metro North Beacon station. There are taxis usually waiting there, but you can also call ahead from the train if you want or use Uber/Lyft. And, if you're traveling light and want to walk the 2 miles, it's a fun 1/2 hour down main street and through the neighborhoods. It's a perfect little walking town! Uber and Lyft are now in Beacon. As stated in the listing, pets are NOT allowed. Smoking inside is not allowed. If one of these rules is broken, there will be a $100 fine and you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund. Thank you for understanding.
