Cozy renovated and restored garden level in a brownstone
We have renovated and restored a ground floor in our family owned brownstone on a block with a landmark designated church, St. Aloysius. We are located in a section of upper Manhattan, the St. Nicholas Park area of Harlem. There are many details, wood chair rails, oak floors and carpets, decorative fire place, modern kitchen, exposed brick walls and a viewing garden in the rear. Kitchen cabinets are oak and the counter top and floor are quarry tile. There is a flat screen TV in the living room and a TV in the bedroom. We have WiFi. There is plenty of closet space. The building is located on a very quiet tree lined residential street and I am president of the block association, Neighbors United of West 132nd Street Association. The pied a terre reflects the sophistication and simplicity of our travel and experience especially in the Francophile world. The is air conditioning in the summer. Laundromats are nearby. We have a well stocked library of books as well as periodicals including "The New Yorker," "The Magazine Antique," Vanity Fair," "W Magazine," "The Economist," and Veranda Magazine. We have nice bistro style table service, white porcelain plates, wine glasses as well as glass tumblers and bowls. Basically, the kitchen is outfitted with all that you will need. We will provide coffee and a French press, tea, Jams, sugar salt and pepper. If you require any thing additional as well as neighborhood and city information, we are available at home 24/7. There is a Foodtown supermarket right at the end of the block and they have a good selection of items. We also now have a Whole Food Market. The mattress on the classic full size bed in the bedroom is like sleeping on a cloud and the day bed offers more than rudimentary twin bed sleeping opportunities. It is outfitted with denim slipcovers and pillows. It makes for perfect seating while watching the flat screen television. The fold out dining table is an antique from our family and comfortably seats 4. The restaurant scene has changed immensely and many dining options, soul food, French, South American, Japanese and African are available. Many new cafes have opened and they too are all within walking distance. Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelson has opened a great restaurant, the Red Rooster, and it is often celebrity filled.
