Hassle-free space on the east side of Iowa City

This is a furnished basement one bedroom, one bathroom apartment, with a fully functioning kitchenette. There is plenty of space for air mattresses if guests bring. Kitchenette has fridge, microwave, countertop oven and two burners, coffee maker, and the basics for baking and cooking almost anything. Laundry facilities are shared with owner. Apartment has separate entrance (owner will arrange access to shared laundry space for longer term guests). Pets welcome! Everything in the furnished one bedroom apartment is set aside for guest use. The rented space includes your own living area, dining area, kitchenette, bathroom, and one bedroom. I live onsite in a separate apartment. But I travel often for work. So I am most reliably reached by email and text. This is a family- and pet-friendly residential area near a city park, along a major bus route to downtown and the University of Iowa campus. The neighborhood is perfectly situated to benefit from all the University has to offer, without any of the hassles of being on or near its large campus. Iowa City is a bike-friendly city, and has an efficient bus system. But cars are still the norm. Parking around my place is very open (on the street with no restrictions, and there is always space). I need to pass through the rented apartment once a week to access the laundry facilities. I will schedule this access with guests staying more than 7 days.
