Coral Bay Cabin is a quaint "Tiny House" located in the beautiful Sally Peachie neighborhood. This oceanfront cabin was modeled after a typical dwelling hut of the Miskito indigenous people. The location of the cabin is well known for its amazing breeze, making air conditioning unnecessary. It is also located right in front of the best snorkeling reef on the island, and within a 5-10 minute walk to several restaurants, bars, and a dive shop. Coral Bay Cabin is a "Tiny House." It was modeled after a typical dwelling hut of the Miskito indigenous people who have inhabited the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua for thousands of years. It is approximately 240 square feet. All of the building materials were locally sourced, and built by local Miskito builder Sanders Castillo. The space is small but very comfortable. The kitchen is more than adequate. It includes a two burner gas stove top, refrigerator, microwave, sink and counter space. The outdoor living space is very comfortable and open. A large almond tree gives great shade and allows for a number of hammock arrangements. On the ocean's edge is a well manicured private beach and lounging area. It also has a staircase right into the Caribbean sea for snorkeling or just wading or swimming. World class snorkeling is just a 50 meter swim from the beach. There is also a 1904 steamship wreck "S.S. Norco" about 1/3 miles swim away that is a snorkeling must. Surf casting from the beach is fantastic, especially at night. The owner has caught countless Red Snapper over 10 pounds. Fly fishing can also be phenomenal when winds are light. Bonefish, Permit, & Tarpon can be caught in front of the cabin. Guest will have access to all of the cabin and outdoor space and furniture. Sally Peachie is the premier neighborhood on Big Corn Island for those travelers seeking pristine beaches and watersports. Being on the North East side of the island provides a constant sea breeze from the NE trade wind. It is the least populated neighborhood on the island. The people of Sally Peachie are very friendly and the neighborhood is very safe for walking day or night. The cabin is located on the main circle road of the island. Taxi's will pass frequently during the day and early evening. A taxi ride is only $0.67 per person, anywhere you want to go. There is also a bus that passes about every 30 hour during business hours and costs about $0.15. Guest can rent snorkel gear for an additional $5 per day.
