The Jewel Vinsota is a modern take on the Craftsman style of architecture. The open floor plan and loft with pool table are softened by prairie-inspired leaded glass windows and custom window casings with a Japanese flair. The wrap-around veranda nearly doubles the living space and places you up in the tree branches over Beaver Creek. We invite you to share our remarkable environment, to soak up the art and nature and rejuvenate your spirit. We are dog-friendly but share our home with cats. Cats will be removed from our home prior to your stay. The house will be clean, but if you're allergic, we can't guarantee that you won't notice their existence. Our home is yours. We will vacate and either stay in our guesthouse or at a hotel, if we already have reservations for the Jewel Vinsota Guesthouse. You will have access to our sculpture park, pond, creek, and artist's studio. If you want creative time with tools, materials and equipment, that can be arranged. We may be staying in our guesthouse, 20' away, during your stay. If we're not, that means other AirBnB'ers are staying there. You must be respectful of us or them during your stay. We'll introduce you to the house and get you settled in . after that you're on your own. We are conveniently located to everything and nothing. --0.7 mile from the Appalachian Trail, --a couple miles from the heart of Smithsburg MD where you'll find a bar, a diner and a couple restaurants. --Waynesboro, PA is 9 miles (note- many Waynesboro restaurants are BYOB), --downtown Hagerstown, MD is a 20 minute drive. Hagerstown is the county seat and features the Blues Fest in early June; the Washington County Museum of Fine Art is a gem and located in City Park, also worth visiting. --I-70 is less than 10 minutes away. --easy and pleasant drives to Antietam and Gettysburg National Battlefields, Catoctin Mountain National Park and Greenbriar State Park. I've created a couple g.o0.gle maps with specific spots I like in the area and will share with you after you've reserved the space (because this site doesn't even let me use that word!!) We're in a bit of a cell-phone dead zone for At&T and Verizon. Just down the road it works fine. If you need to have actual phone conversations, we have a land line. But the wifi will give you email and text message access.
