Meet Orange Sunshine. Right on the river, this open concept yurt features a living space, queen bed, wood stove, dining area & kitchenette (with propane stove & cookware). Also includes your own private outhouse. Only a 7 min drive to Baddeck. Walk 5 mins down a groomed trail (so pack light!) to this off-grid experience. Or snowmobile right to the yurt from the highlands! There’s no electricity, so prepare to unplug! From the private parking lot, walk five minutes on a groomed trail to your own secluded site tucked away into the woods. SLEEP: Enjoy a queen bed, duvet & bedding, with a futon & bedding for an extra guest. EAT: Kitchenette with two-burner stove, french press coffee maker, pantry basics (spices, coffee, tea etc.), cookware, glasses, dishes & cutlery, and drinking water. Outside, there’s also a propane BBQ and a food/beverage cooler. RELAX: Sit back and enjoy a cast iron wood-burning stove, with indoor kindling & firewood provided. For the outdoor fire pit, wood is available for purchase. PLUS: Your own private outhouse, outdoor shower, kayak rentals, candles & flashlights, hammocks, communal tipi. You'll have exclusive access to the yurt, shared access to a private parking lot, and shared access to our communal tipi. We live a couple acres away and will be available by phone or text should you need anything. The yurt sits at the base of the highlands right on the river, yet you're only about a 7 minute drive to Baddeck - the beginning and end of the Cabot trail. It's a charming little town that's got everything you need. Groceries, cafes, shops, restaurants, you name it. You'll definitely need a vehicle to explore the Cabot Trail. But you can also bike to town, or even kayak directly to the Bras d'Or Lake right from the river! We're also at the base of the highlands, so ATV and snowmobile enthusiasts can easily reach us via Crowdis Mountain. We're off-grid, so no electricity and no plumbing. We do, however, have good cell reception, offer a practical kitchenette, and a private outhouse.
