On the first floor we have a cozy guestroom with two comfortable single beds and a bathroom across the hall that will only be shared if there are guests in the room next door. Guests will have access to all the gardens outside and common rooms within the house. These areas include a kitchenette, a pingpong table, a lovely place to birdwatch or study, and even a cheerful fireplace. Generally as much as they would like or need. Robledo La Pola is a quiet neighborhood that was once the area for the wealthy citizens of Medellín to have their country retreat homes (fincas). Now the city has grown up around it, and Salsipuedes is one of the few historic fincas left, an oasis of nature within the city. Every two or three days a family of Tití monkeys scampers through our trees. They are members of an endangered species. Many different birds come to our bird feeder, as well. There are several small convenience stores within a block or two distance from the house, and the large supermarket Éxito de Robledo is at the bottom of the hill, 4 minutes drive away. The Éxito also has a BodyTech, and there are several outdoor gyms and micro-football (soccer) courts where the kids of the neighborhood work out and play. Safe and economical taxi service to the door is generally about five minutes waiting time. From our house to downtown is about 20 minutes in taxi, to Poblado is approximately (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes. Bus to metro system or downtown is five minutes walk from the house. Bus to Floresta metro station is 15 minutes from the house, including walking time. Bus to downtown, (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minutes. Metro system is economical and great transportation to most of the city. Transportation from airport to our house: 1. Pick-up can be arranged for US$30 one way. 2. Taxi direct to our home costs approximately US $30. 3. Shuttle from airport to city terminal is approximately US $4 to 5. Taxi from terminal to our home is about the same amount.
