Our newly renovated Basement Studio is awesome for anyone that is looking for a clean, modern space close to downtown Bellingham. In the historic Lettered Streets neighborhood, walk to all the great breweries and restaurants. Although this house was built in the late 1800's... the studio is new, bright, and a perfect getaway. It has it all: King Size bed, full kitchen, and a mud-room to store outdoor bikes, boards, skis, and kayaks. PLEASE READ the entire listing description! This space has been 100% renovated! Every aspect is new, fresh, and clean. It is the bottom floor of a 3 story home that was built in 1886! The front door opens directly to the driveway, so there is no need to haul your luggage very far. It is also very accessible for those that do not want to climb stairs. Full kitchen is provided, with a full size stove, sink, and refrigerator. We also provide a Keurig coffee maker. and moderate cooking supplies. We provide simple amenities to make you feel at home, such as a hair dryer, iron, and desk space. We also love to give people a feel for the historic charm of our old Bellingham neighborhood, so we have incorporated historic black and white photos from the Whatcom Museum. We also love the vintage inspired record player to add some ambience to the space and hope guests enjoy a record or two while they are here. Guest access is the entire floor studio. Doors are operated by an electronic lock, so there is no fussing with keys. This also provides convenience for guests to arrive at their leisure. Guests also have access to the sitting area on the front porch, and any parking that is available in the driveway. As Super-hosts, we are happy to provide any assistance that is needed. We love recommending our favorite places to eat, drink, and explore. We usually take time to go to all the new restaurants and stay current on our town and LOVE to share this information! We are always available by text, and most often available in person. We love to be welcoming, accommodating, and share our lovely town, but only if requested and tend to stay out of people's hair unless otherwise expressed. Lettered Streets is an awesome neighborhood if you like to be close to downtown restaurants, bars, and businesses. We often walk to the farmers markets or to brunch, and appreciate that we are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Bellingham. We love all the breweries, tap-houses, and coffee shops that are blocks away from our house! It is also ideal because it is a short distance (less than a mile) from the waterfront and the Marina (Squalicum Harbor). The fact that we can walk less than a mile to the marina to inspect the yachts, watch the sunset at Zuanich park, or driftwood hunt along Squalicum Beach is a real luxury! We love our location so much, but we still feel it is important to note that because we are only blocks from downtown, parks, restaurants and the waterfront, we have some proximity to areas where the homeless population of Bellingham will congregate. As with any downtown area nationwide, homelessness is rising. It is unfortunate, but we cannot change this fact until certain systemic issues are addressed in our country. And Bellingham, even though picturesque and charming, shares the same disparity in living wage/home prices that the entire west coast is experiencing. However, we love living so close to downtown and have NO issues with our neighborhood. It is considered a desirable and very safe area to live. However, we like to give everyone a heads up... especially those folks that like to ignore that homelessness indeed exists in America. If you do not want to see homeless people, please do NOT stay here! For more info on the Lettered Streets neighborhood feel free to visit: (Website hidden by Airbnb) Parking is no issue on our street! If there is a spot in the driveway, guests are welcome. Or street parking is always an option. We are 2 blocks from a main bus-line, as well as 20 yards from a bike trail. And of course, walking is very convenient from our location. Walk to downtown restaurants, theaters, and bars in about 8 blocks! Getting around is very easy and this location is ideal for people who do not want to rent a car. As mentioned, we are VERY close to the water and downtown. In Bellingham, with any proximity to the waterfront, you will be able to hear the trains. This unit has brand new windows, so the noise is very minimal. Also, please read our neighborhood description. This unit is in an urban location, and this should be noted further in our "neighborhood" section.
