The ground level entry welcomes you with an undercover lush tropical garden with outdoor shower that opens to the pool, landscaped yard and ocean views. The private pool lanai has loungers surrounding the secluded cool tile pool and the rock fountain provides the soothing sound of cascading water, a perfect complement to the ocean waves just steps away. The volcanic reef beach just outside the grassy yard offers solitude with endless snorkeling and miles of beach combing possibilities, while the world famous Playa Negra surf break is just a 5 minute walk down the beach. Private parking, Gas BBQ, laundry and secured storage perfect to store surf and pool gear round out this ground level. Upstairs on the second level, a large, covered veranda offers breathtaking ocean views. Teak furniture invites you to relax with a good book or a cocktail or dining outside. Inside the home, a combined living/dining area/kitchen offers a relaxed living space, with all the comforts. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances and cookware offering you the option to cook in with the local catch of the day. The living room offers cable TV, DVD and phone/internet. The two bedrooms are modestly furnished with up-styled decor, with a queen bed in the master bedroom and 2 twin beds in the guest bedroom. A shared bathroom is stocked with bed and bath linens and the house has AC throughout the whole house as well as ceiling fans. Just rolling sounds of the waves and unlimited bird, butterflies and wildlife scenery. We take great care of our guests and offer a security system as well as a safe and secured storage for your surf boards. A full size gas BBQ is included to grill up that catch of day or we can send over one of our chefs to do the cooking for you. This is home is managed by Beach Grass Property Management and Rentals and Mary, the owner is available for all your needs before and during your stay. One of us will be greeting you upon arrival to explain the details of the house and go over any local suggestions. We offer full concierge services to assist you in making your arrival go smoothly with ground transportation or car rentals and can offer suggestions for tours and activities so you can get the most out of your vacation days. Our office is just 5 minutes from the house and we are available as much as you need and 24/7 by phone and email. The peaceful fishing village of Playa Negra de Los Pargos, still retains its rustic rural charm of Costa Rica from years past. You will not find any high rises, large hotels or condos or waiting taxis in Playa Negra. As of yet, roads aren’t paved out here at the beach which helps to keep our little town accessible to tourism activities, while protected from over development. Our rush hour traffic is a herd of cattle crossing the road or a stray pig or the occasional horses wondering the road. Most of the locals walk and get around on bikes, motorcycles, and horses and even Ox carts are still in use for hauling large loads. We have beautiful scenery; lush vegetation, lots of monkeys, iguanas, birds, turtles, horses, unpolluted waters and pristine beaches. We have exceptional surfing on reef and beach breaks; interspersed with black and white sand beach areas for swimming, tidal pools for exploring, snorkeling in shallow waters, and fishing sites. There are stretches of beach for exploring, long walks and sharing memories. With a community of friendly people from all parts of the world, there is most everything you need accessible to this area. You will find a few small stores with the basic necessities, art and souvenir shops, surf and bikini shop, yoga and massage services and some incredibly good restaurants thanks to several internationally trained professional chefs living here. If you need nightlife, a drugstore or medical care, gasoline, bank or an ATM, or large grocery stores to stock up, the nearest ones are in Tamarindo or Santa Cruz, about a 30-minute drive away. The easiest and most flexible way of traveling while in Costa Rica and to Playa Negra and Casa Papaya Con Leche is to rent a car. Roads are generally in good condition and getting better every year. 4WD is recommended during the rainy season, from May to December, because a lot of roads are still uneven and unpaved. You can get by with 2 wheel drive cars during the dry season however the drive may a bit slower as you will not have the clearance for some crossings on the dirt roads. Renting a car is not necessary if your style is to stay put at your vacation rental and just relax; we can arrange your ground transportation for you, stock the kitchen and send in the chef. However, it is recommended and renting a car allows you the flexibility to enjoy your vacation just the way you want, explore neighboring beaches, and drive to restaurants at night or other side trips and adventures whenever you feel like it. We will be happy to help you with your car rental or any other travel arrangements, just let us know your needs. Included with the amenities is phone, internet, wifi, and for those of who need TV there is Sat Cable. There is a full washer and dryer, hair dryer, beach towels and we supply filtered drinking water. Thank you for consideration and feel free to contact us!
