The Cozy Cottage has great views and is very tranquil! It is located 20 mins outside of downtown Turrialba. You’ll love this cozy place because of the comfy beds, screened windows, high ceilings, hot shower and the mountain views. Guests also have access to the soccer field, 'Rustic Fitness' area on the property of 'Finca Canaanda'. The new Fitness Pavilion -'Calacos' Gym' is available for guests by appointment. More than 30 species of birds have been spotted by guests around the property. The cottage is great for guests wanting to stay in a cozy place in nature! Traveler's feel very safe in this family friendly area. Great for long or short term stays. Ideal location for CATIE students and staff, ICE, RECOPE, Bird watchers The views are incredible! The windows all have screens and the bathroom has a hot water shower. Guests have access to the innovative 'Rustic Fitness' area, which has a climbing wall, box, ropes, tires, and large soccer field. Also access to 'station weight training' outdoors. *The new 'Calacos Gym' Fitness pavilion (gym equipment under a roof) is now available to guests for a small fee and by appointment.* Guests can even have Personal Training (or couple/family training) by having Certified Personal Trainer, Tony Sanchez guide them in a fitness class. The training class can be introductory level, including walks around the Finca Canaanda property, funcional movement, stretching. etc. with the emphasis on enjoying the outdoors/nature, de-stress and feel energized. The class can also be done on a challenging level for the experienced fitness lovers including weights, crossfit exercises and cardio. Adventure tourists can enjoy easy access to Rafting, Canyoning, Mountain biking. There's also Nature tours, coffee tours, garden tours, Bird watching tours. Famous points of interest: Turrialba Aquiares waterfall; Guayabo Monument; Turrialba Volcano; Pacuare River; Hacienda Tayutic; CATIE; Nortico Cacao Tour Rancho Naturalista bird watching lodge; We can refer you to the best places! The cottage has a guidebook available with more information. We are available to help guests! We live just up the hill on the same 3 acre property. The cottage is located close to the Christian Immersion Spanish Academy in Tuis, for those wanting to learn Spanish. The next closest town is La Suiza, (5 min drive) where there is a bank, pharmacy and a few grocery stores, butcher, pizza place, restaurants. The larger city, Turrialba has a greater variety of options of restaurants, banks, grocery stores. It is around a 20 minute drive. The public bus comes by on a regular hourly schedule from Turrialba. It is recommended to have a 4x4 vehicle to access the cottage. If it's not possible, parking is available at the bottom of the hill and we can help you the rest of the way up! We can provide healthy breakfast at an extra fee of $8 US per person. Housekeeping service can be provided for a small fee.
