The rooms will be cleaned twice a week. This cleaning includes changing the bedding and the provision of a fresh set of clean towels. If you should wish so, we can run our washing machine and do a little bit of laundry for you free of charge. Breakfast is inclusive and you can take tea and coffee all day, free of charge. We will also provide some space for you in our refrigerator, so you can keep your own drinks fresh and cool at all times. As a matter of fact, you don’t even have to leave the villa to have a well spent vacation. There is a well constructed swimming pool, situated in the middle of the beautifully landscaped garden, from where you can see the hummingbirds and parakeets flying around the tropical trees and flowers. A palapa provides shade on the pool deck, so sitting on the deckchairs you can either bath in the sun or relax under the cover of its palm leaves roofing. You can take a stroll through the tropical garden with various types of palm trees, banana trees and colourful tropical flowers. On your way in this garden you may very well encounter an innocuous iguanda or even a ‘blauw blauw’, an indigenous and harmless lizard specie, famous for its bright blue colour after which it has been named. We are Leo and Tanja Van der Meer, a semi retired couple from the Netherlands who have recently decided to embark on a new adventure by opening up a B&B on the tropical Island of Curaçao, one of the former Netherlands Antilles, located in the Caribbean. We were fortunate enough to be able to use one of the island’s most beautiful villas for this purpose and we would like to welcome you to our B&B enterprise in this pleasant tropical paradise. Our villa is located in Julianadorp, a suburb of Willemstad, constructed in the thirties and forties for the Royal Dutch Shell oil company’s higher management. Since air conditioning devices were not commonly applied to private houses in those days, the villas of Julianadorp were built in an ‘upwind’ way to make the most of the refreshing winds coming in from the sea, resulting in a comfortable cooling breeze that’s always there. Furthermore, the fact that this neighbourhood is situated in the middle of the island comes with the advantage that literally everything is close by. The pleasant and convivial Kokomo Beach is only five minutes away, within a two minutes’ distance you will find a supermarket with an ATM, while a trip to the center of Willemstad takes just ten minutes. The Blue Bay eighteen holes’ golf course is nearby as well and, in case you want to visit the beautiful beaches in the direction of Westpunt, you can be there in about half an hour. We recommend that you hire a car for the duration of your stay on the island. This is right at the airport. You can then come to us by car. B & B Blue Blue is just 7 minutes from Hato Airport. The car you can park in our own parking spaces for the home. Directions: (URL HIDDEN) Taxi stand at the airport always bring plenty of taxis (minivans) that you put in a ride of 5-10 minutes to Blue Blue. Taxis in Curacao are recognized by the board and the letters TX on the license plate. We do not work with taxi meters but with fixed rates for the different neighborhoods and areas of the island. Always check first to the price before you. A ride from the airport to the B & B Blue Blue takes approximately 25 Antillean guilder. On request, we can also come to pick you for the same amount. There are plenty of nice and agreeable restaurant on the island of Curaçao, but if you don’t feel like going out for your evening meal and you prefer to stay in the villa, there is always the possibility of sharing a home cooked meal with us. The same applies for lunch. This comes with a small charge of some extra costs, but considerably less than you would spend in any restaurant.
