Our family is native to island and welcomes you to our community & friends; come for once in a lifetime experience. We aim at exposing travelers to real island living, meeting locals, swimming in the lake, hiking private trails, eating organic food, picking fruits off the trees, and even feed the chickens...allowing for 100% genuine hands on experience you will remember for a long time. Extended stays are welcomed! You will have full access while visiting on our farm and promise you will feel part of family immediately, smiling and laughing lots in a warm and welcoming ambiance. We interact w/guests & respect their space at the same time. We are fun-lovin' people that enjoy the outdoors and all it has to offer. We offer full guidance & directions for our guests that want to adventure on their own. Visiting and living are very different experiences, at 'Finca Don Mincho' you will totally feel you are living much more than visiting. Even after short stay you will feel you are leaving home when goodbyes are said; we prefer 'see you again...' Buses & Taxis (private cars) are available from dock & farm to get you around; some prefer to rent motorcycle or bicycle...of course walking & hiking always an option... We have private & group Spanish lessons available for those interested, you will be amazed how quick you will learn w/full immersion & speaking to locals. We run OYEP (Ometepe Youth Education Program), we work with pre and elementary school kids, you are most welcome to be our guest during school visits and experience an amazing cultural experience firsthand...a must for teens and younger.
