I have added many links to nearby restaurants, sightseeing, and things to do. Be sure to check out Moose Woods Guide Service. Paul is Excellent, and has a wide variety of excursions. Be sure to do your homework before you come up if you plan on visiting Baxter State Park. They have new rules, and regulations, and you will need to reserve a parking space if you plan on Hiking Katahdin. We have a fire pit that you are free to use, but just be mindful of the weather conditions and always have the hose from the side of the house nearby in case of an emergency. It is a long way out to camp from town, so plan to stop at the Hannaford's in Millinocket for groceries on the way. I also advise that you stop along the way on Route 157 in Medway, East Millinocket or Millinocket at the Katahdin General Store for a couple bundles of firewood. We provide towels and sheets. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you should need to cook and bake. We also have a coffee maker, tea kettle, microwave and full size refrigerator with freezer. No dogs allowed in Baxter, so be sure to make arraignments with me to care for your pet if your going to climb, or look up Katahdin Kritters Pet Resort. they are AWESOME!! If you have a Large Dog that Sheds, Please leave yourself extra time to vacuum the Lodge, including the furniture, before you checkout. 98% of our dog owners are respectful and responsible, so we do not charge an extra pet cleaning fee. But, I will request additional money thru Airbnb after inspecting the lodge and find you have not cleaned up after your pet. We are in Gods Country, The North Woods of Maine. It's beautiful, Peaceful, and spectacular, but unfortunately not handicap friendly. I do not recommend the lodge for anyone in a wheelchair, or who has trouble negotiating rocky terrain, steps, or tight spaces.
