Perched atop the highest coastal land in Belize, the Blue Belize B&B offers superb views of the Caribbean Sea and nearby Guatemala. Our suites are beautifully appointed and fully equipped for all your sea and jungle adventures or to just relax on the veranda and watch the pelicans go by. Lie in bed and enjoy beautiful views of the Caribbean sea. Awake to the songs of jungle birds. Your private space is made up of an open-plan kitchenette, sitting room, dining area and bedroom and a separate bathroom. Each kitchenette comes equipped with a set of cooking and eating utensils. Enjoy the sounds of the ocean from your veranda where you can lounge in a hammock or enjoy a meal. A Continental Breakfast of fruit, juice and pastry or fruit bread is included. We take every precaution to ensure your safety with regard to the Covid19 pandemic. Punta Gorda is a sparsely populated fishing village which has wonderful vegetable and fish markets. There are several great restaurants nearby. It is an ideal place to go fishing, swimming or snorkeling. Most of Punta Gorda is within walking distance or accessible on our free to use bicycles. The hosts are awaiting your arrival and are generally available during the day to assist with all and any queries. They live on site in a separate apartment to be available in the evenings should you need them. They are ready to assist you with all your queries from extra towels to where to buy good vegetable, where to get a good taco or who to book a fishing trip with. Your enjoyment of their space is their priority. Punta Gorda is a small fishing village that give great access to the jungles of Belize and the Caribbean sea. There are several wonderful markets in town including a vegetable market and fish market that both sell a good range of products. There are several grocery stores that cover all the remining food needs. These are all with in walking distance of the B&B. There are a range of small restaurants that cater to breakfast, lunch and dinner. These are everything from small road side joints to formal restaurants. They cover various different styles of cusines including local styles. There are several bars in the area as well. These are all with in walking and cycling distance of the B&B. There are more choices on the far side of town which are a short drive away. There are several walks around town for those who want to see a bit of the jungle and real the Belize where people live. Bi cycling is also a great way to see the town and go to some of the beaches and areas where swimming is good. The chocolate factory in down town Punta Gordo is a great place to see how chocolate is made and to buy some excellent locally sourced and manufactured chocolate. The Spice Farm is also a fun visit to see where the spices we use in everyday cooking comes from. Puerto Barrio and Livingstone are just a ferry boat ride away from Punta Gordo for those who want to see a little of Guatemala. The ferry take between 45 minutes and an hour and a half depending on sea conditions. There are several places along the shoreline that you can go fishing or if you would like to try your hand at fly fishing we can arrange a guide to take you out to the Cayes. There are several Mayan ruins nearby for you to go and explore. We can arrange a tour for you or you can go self guided. The closest is Nim Li Punnit. We are based in Punta Gorda, the most southern town in Belize’s most remote Toledo District. “PG” as it’s known by all in Belize, is accessible by: Car or bus on the Southern Highway. This is a picturesque 5-6 hour drive from Belize City past Belmopan and down the Hummingbird highway. Most buses only travel during the day and we do not recommend that you drive at night, especially if you have never driven in Belize before. By Tropic Air from several towns/cities in Belize. From Belize International or Municipal Airport, the flight takes about 1 hr and 15 minutes. As agents for Tropic Air we will gladly book your flights. Travel by water taxi from Puerto Barrios or Livingston, Guatemala. The ride usually takes between 1 to 1.5 hrs depending on sea conditions.
