Take a step back in time as you stay in a cozy RV nestled on the historic property of Beechwood farm, an 1829 home steeped in civil war history. Walk where General George Meade and General Ulysses S. Grant tread during their stay on the property. Enjoy beautiful sunsets views right from the RV and a night under the stars around the firepit. Beechwood is a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. The entire space is yours to enjoy! With panoramic views of wide open fields, chickens and goats roaming, and eagles soaring overhead, you will forget you are a short drive from civilization. The camper is perfectly located for whatever sightseeing you would like to do during your stay. The Spotsylvania Battlefield is a mere 5 minutes away, the other local Civil War battlefields are within 20 minutes, and historic downtown Fredericksburg is 20 minutes away. If Washington D.C. is on your list, an hour drive north will get you to all the nation's capital has to offer. Shenandoah National State Park is an hour and a half to our west and you will discover some of the best hiking around. The camper boasts an outdoor kitchen and grilling area. Inside has a kitchen, complete with a refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and a two burner hot plate, the stove and oven are not operational. Inside you will find a private queen bedroom and a second private bedroom with bunk beds. The second bedroom can double as a private seating area with an additional couch. There is a TV with a Roku, no cable or satellite tv. The queen bedroom will sleep 2 adults comfortably, the couch in the 2nd bedroom folds down into a comfortable full size bed, the remaining 3 bunks are best suited for the little travelers in your party. It is a camper so it has a small hot water heater, you will need to limit your shower time. There is AC for those warm summer days and the unit is heated with space heater on those chilly nights. Out front we have a fire pit and chairs so you can lounge at night, take in the stars, and unwind from your busy day of sight seeing. We do have 2 friendly dogs, we keep them with us, but you might hear them barking their welcome, and occasionally one or more might sneak over, they like to meet new people! There are also goats and many chickens, including a few roosters, that sometimes roam the property. The chickens free range and love to find things to eat under the camper. There are roosters, so keep an eye on the little travelers in your party. The chickens and goats love to meet new people and we would be happy to take you to meet them and give them treats, just ask! Wildlife: Please be aware that the camper is located in a field next to pastures. You might see or encounter wildlife while in the camper or in the yard including but not limited to: birds, bees, wasps, bats, mosquitoes, spiders, snakes, field mice, fireflies, butterflies, lady bugs, ants, ticks, fox, deer, and even a coyote has passed through the yard. While we thoroughly clean the inside of the camper, we cannot insure that a bug or two won't try to join you during your stay! Guests will have access to the entire camper and are free to wander around the stalls and visit the chickens, just be respectful and do not try to pick them up! Remember, there are roosters, but most of them are friendly. We live on the property and are here to help make your stay as comfortable as possible, all you need to do is ask. Quiet 5 acre property that is next to 21 acres of undeveloped land. There is no public transportation near the RV. Inside the RV you will find driving maps of the local battlefields along with other area attractions.
