This is one of a kind "creative haven" is located in the idyllic Pocono Mountains. This two bedroom artist studio is a perfect space for anyone looking to escape the city. Perfect to rest and recharge but also to have the space and time to work on your art, journal or write your book, settle your mind, slow down and take in nature. Designed to showcase my body of work, it displaying several series of art within its wall and serves as my current studio for new work. The Alappat Atelier was created by New York City artist Sebastian Alappat. Needing a place to make art, he founded this studio as an ideal place to escape the confines of painting in a small Manhattan apartment. The Atelier now serves as his studio and as a shared workspace for all creative types seeking a quiet place to stay while honing their craft and working on their passion projects while getting away from the hustle and grind of the city. The Artist Atelier is nestled in the idyllic Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania. You'll have access to a 1600 square foot working studio & gallery with several creative stations and separate utility sink. Filled with art, you’ll find a drafting table, a drawing nook, a writing corner and several shared easels. The other end of the Atelier boasts a lofted bedroom up a flight of stairs with dresser and desk, a colorful ground floor apartment with a Joybird sofa bed, a well stocked library as well as a mahogany writers desk with a view to the grounds. While you’re creating, take care of yourself in the gorgeous, newly renovated full bathroom and dine in the calming retro kitchenette and brand new bbq grill along with a fully stocked kitchen with a bran new Classic retro stove. During the winter months, there is a gas powered fireplace in the main studio and digital thermostats as several well wall-mounted to rooms. Put on a vinyl record and sit around main studio making art to the crackle of the fireplace. You may set temperatures to desired one but please return when done. Please shut off the fireplace when not using the main room. My studio is designed to give guests the full experience of working and living in my studio. Kunkletown is an idyllic sleepy town which allows for any creative minded person to just focus on making their art, whatever that may be. That said, it a perfect vacation spot through all four seasons! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, the Atelier is less than 5 miles from Blue Mountain Ski Resort for activities all year round! Also in close proximity to the Appalachian trail, scenic Jim Thorpe, the Pocono Raceway, Mt Airy Casino, the Sands casino in Bethlehem, Lehigh and Delaware rivers, Beltzville Lake, numerous local wineries including Blue Ridge Winery and Sorrenti's Cherry Valley Winery which are both within 10 minutes. Full warning tho, once you come inside the cozy, creative vortex of the Atelier, put on a vinyl and look at some art, you might never want to leave! You definitely need a car to get around. There are ubers around but not reliable. The Atelier is the working studio and gallery. It also serves as a charming guesthouse and a fully functional creative space. Lofted Bedroom up a short flight of steps features one includes a plush, queen size bed and the second bed is a super deluxe Joybird sofabed. Bed linens, towels, pillows and blankets are provided. One full bath and one half bath ( studio bathroom ) plus a small kitchenette and dining table. There is also an additional futon in the Retro Kitchenette that sleeps 1. To get you inspired, I have left some art supplies on table inviting to create during your stay. If you’re an artist, feel free to bring your own supplies ( paints and canvas)! Easels are up for your use! There is barbecue grill outside to help with cooking, please maintain all safe practices when using the grill and be sure to SHUT OFF THE propane tank when finished using. Please kindly respect all original artwork. Dogs are welcome! I'd ask that you please curb after dogs on property outside and keep them on the bottom floor of Atelier. Please park your car to the left of the flipped stump in front. You’ll find the smell of the cedar chips outside intoxicating and they are great for keeping away ticks!
