Casita Amapola

The small cabin is located above Lake Arenal near "Tico Wind" in a sloping garden of 5000 m3 with views of the lake, volcano Arenal and surrounding mountains. It has two bed rooms, combined living room/kitchen and a terrace. You are very private . The small " casita " is located in a large private garden where you have a view to Lake Arenal, the volcano Arenal and on the other side to the mountains with volcano Tenorio. You will have a very private place but you are always welcome to contact us, we are you neighbours below. Guests have access to the entire garden When on the premises we are happy to answer any question you might have. We speak Spanish, English and German and will be glad to assist you with your tour planning or can organize tours for you. In the event you are coming without a rental car the owner can take you to any tour you might desire. This should be made known when booking ! We have no direct neighbours. You will find yourself surrounded by nature. Nightlife is to be found elsewhere. On the property or at the lake you will have good opportunities for bird watching, especially in the morning and in the late afternoon (toucans, oropendulas, hummingbirds, birds of prey, herons , kingfisher .......) Howler monkeys are locally represented as well. For fans of grilling there is a grill available and those romantically inclined can light a camp fire. You can explore the surrounding by bike, we have two bikes for rent . There are bus connections to Tilaran and on to San Jose or north to Liberia, in the opposite direction to Fortuna and on to Ciudad Quesada ( San Carlos). The buses to Tilaran leave several times a day, to Fortuna only 3 times Guests should have a rental car. Even though there are bus connections the most attractive places are hard or cannot be reached at all by bus. Directly from here you can make half day or day trips to many interesting destinations such as Arenal volcano, hanging bridges, Tenorio (Rio Celeste) and Rincon de la Vieja Nationalparks, Monteverde ( cloud forest St. Elena), Rio Bebedero as well as various waterfalls,hot springs or zip line tours near Fortuna. From our property you have direct access to a small peninsula which lends itself for hiking, swimming and during the main season (Nov-April) there is wind and kite surfing (rentel and surfing school ). This place is known as the best wind surfing place in the country. There is also fishing in the lake. In the immediate surroundings there are a few "Sodas"( cheap eating places), restaurants and coffee shops as well as shopping possibilities in the nearby village of Rio Piedras ( Guadalajara) in two small grocery stores or in the towns of Tilaran and Nuevo Arenal both 14 km from here. Gas stations you will find in Tilaran, Nuevo Arenal , Cañas and Fortuna We charge no extra costs for cleaning
