Serenea B&B is a unique, secluded and elegant Eco-lodge that offers jungle experience and comfort in a tropical paradise setting. Its location is remote enough to be extremely quiet but also convenient as it is central to main activities from Ometepe Island. Nature and travels are our inspiration. We are committed to surprise you and make your destination exclusive, authentic and exotic. Serenea B&B is located on the slope of a dormant volcano, inside the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Maderas close to Santa Cruz. It is a wildlife and adventure lover’s paradise. Our Ecolodge is called “Earth” (Tierra in Spanish). It is made of cob/adobe with oriental designs and dome ceiling which give it an exclusive and original touch. You’ll feel like you stepped into the Arabian Nights novel as soon as you open the rounded doors. It features inside: - 2 bedrooms with queen size ergonomic bed and fan - 1 safe big enough to safely store your laptop - 1 living room with a desk - 1 fully tiled bathroom with modern flush toilet and hot water shower - 1 large mirror - Soft towels and complimentary toiletry - Multiple hooks and hangers - Multiple cushions - All windows are screened Your stay also includes: - Private access to the Ecolodge rooftop and lounge area with panoramic view on our luxuriant garden - Free filtered volcanic spring water and unlimited refill - Free access to a 2-person hammock - Free secured parking - Internet access throughout the property (Uninterrupted WIFI service may not be guaranteed due to Serenea’s remote location). Please note that there is NO communal kitchen NOR kettle available. Even though you can discover 2 main attractions from Ometepe in a two-night trip, we recommend you to stay at least 3 nights to live fully the experience like a local. Save time to just disconnect, be around nature and enjoy our amenities (lounge rooftop, hammock). Give you time to sleep in, to enjoy a slow breakfast in the middle of the garden and to spot on wildlife for stunning photography. Grant you a professional onsite massage after hiking a volcano or paddling on the lake. And don’t forget that sun goes down at 5:30pm, so days get really short on a Island that has so much to offer. You have exclusive access to the Ecolodge “Earth” and its rooftop. You also have full access to our gorgeous 5 acres jungle garden. There are small trails that guide you through the property to discover all our fruit trees, exotic plants, lake and volcano views and several petroglyphs that date all the way back to 1,700 years ago. Serenea B&B has a direct access to the trail for hiking the volcano. No transportation is needed! As I am getting married in France, I will be out of the country for several months. Serenea B&B remains open. You will be communicating directly with me via this platform and my in-laws are the one who will personally welcome you and take care of you onsite. They are very sweet, considerate and well trained to help you with anything such as organizing tours, book transportation or recommend place for dinner. Your experience will be authentic and memorable. Getting to my place is part of the adventure. As soon as you leave the main island road you will travel up for half of a mile (less than 1km) a steep hill from the volcano. There is easy road access and as you enter the UNESCO Biosphere reserve the vegetation becomes dense making the last 5 minutes very mysterious and tropical. My property is remote but convenient with direct access to the forest and trails to hike the Maderas volcano and central location to waterfalls, exploring the petroglyph, kayak tours on the wetlands, horseback riding and onsite massage. Beach and lake access is a 15-20 minute walk and several restaurants are only a 10 minute taxi ride. If you come with your own vehicle I will provide you with detailed instructions to reach my property. I can also arrange a taxi as you reach the island or while staying at my cabin and help with renting a scooter, motorbike or bicycle. Serenea B&B is pet friendly. I have a horse named Api, and a big, sweet & playful guard dog called Sayab. Living in a Biosphere reserve grants you an unforgettable jungle experience with nature sounds and amazing fauna and flora. This also implies you may encounter any kind of insects and small animals around the property including birds, bees, toads, spiders, rabbits, ants, squirrels, geckos and more. None of them are aggressive or toxic to humans, so no worries and enjoy this incredible biodiversity.
