Glen Laurel on the Sound (w/private beach)
Glen Laurel on the Sound is located on the North Shore of Long Island. It's a colonial style home that sits in the middle of an expansive property, offering privacy and the ability to spread out and enjoy the endless possibility of sprawling lawns bounded in only by trees. Sitting atop a bluff that provides unimpeded views of the Sound and the Connecticut shoreline, is the home with a columned front porch that cannot be beat, particularly at sunset. Glen Laurel on the Sound is up the road from Mount Sinai Harbor, 4 miles from downtown Port Jefferson and the Port Jeff train station. You’ll love the home because of the peace and quiet that 9 acres of property offers. The house sits at the end of a long driveway that leaves you nestled among hundred year old trees and a view of the Sound that is truly mesmerizing. With private access to a private beach that is right on the Long Island Sound, you are only steps away from a relaxing stroll or a refreshing dip, depending on your mood. The home is ideal for couples and families (with kids). It's not uncommon to see a family of deer scamper across the edge of the property, or to see bunnies hopping about, or any number of birds, from Blue Jays to Cardinals to Woodpeckers. Inside the 2800 SF home, you will find a newly renovated kitchen and butler station, outfitted with all new appliances. 3 full baths, one of which is newly renovated (Note: one of the bathrooms is in the basement, a little more bare bones than the other two and most commonly used for rinsing off after a trip to the beach) . The home also provides a comfy living room, spacious dining room, a den/study built for lounging about and bedrooms on the second floor, each with its own unique charm. There is also a basement with a bar and pool table, plus storage for beach amenities you may want to bring with you down to the water. The entire home and grounds, plus beach, are all yours, save for two rooms in the basement, which we use for storage. We can be on call to help with any significant issues, but would need 24hr notice. Otherwise, the only time you might see us would be at check in. Miller Place is an older, traditional Suffolk County town. The smaller roads wind around, taking you into residential areas, which are mainly comprised of homes set back from the road. Larger roads, which in most cases run East and West, are populated with groupings of stores, both large and small, that will likely have whatever you may require. Generally speaking, once you are in Miller Place, the only way to get around is by car. Uber does serve the area and can be used to get you to and from the LIRR Port Jefferson station, which is about 10 minutes from the home.
