La Casita at El Albergue Ollantaytambo

The El Albergue Casita is our newest and largest accommodation, perfect for families. The Casita features two bedrooms as well as a private kitchen and dining area. Nestled into the lush gardens of El Albergue Hotel in Ollantaytambo, the Casita is the perfect spot for travelers taking the train to Machu Picchu or those looking to relax for a few days in the beautiful Sacred Valley of Peru. Originally opened in 1925 under the name of lodge Santa Rosa, El Albergue is a historic and romantic lodge, located in the Ollantaytambo train station little more than an hour away from Machu Picchu and the city of Cusco. With only 16 rooms special detail is given to each and every one, resulting in an elegantly rustic style. Beautiful gardens visited by hummingbirds are engulfed by the aroma of fuchsia, passionflower, peaches and avocado trees which all adorn the early 20th century lodge. Step outside and catch the train to the spectacular ruins of Machu Picchu. While you are at El Albergue you may spend your days visiting the Inca and Pre-Inca archeological sites of Ollantaytambo, Pisaq and Moray, river rafting and mountain biking, and enjoying the beauty and culture of the Andes. Daily breakfast at El Albergue Restaurant included in the room rate. The breakfast includes a buffet of fresh fruit, homemade granola, yogurt, juice, coffee, and tea in addition to made-to-order selections from the kitchen such as omelettes, pancakes, and tacu-tacu. We also serve daily lunch and dinner at the Restaurant. Be sure to check out our natural eucalyptus steam sauna, which is complimentary for guests to use. Our organic farm is a favorite among guests who can make a reservation for our famous Pachamanca Farm Lunch and pay a visit to our cañazo distillery and coffee roasting facility. Finally, if you are planning on spending time in Cusco, please consider our bed and breakfast, El Balcon, which is a beautiful and authentic property that has spectacular views of the city. We offer complimentary direct transportation between the two properties for guests with existing reservations at El Albergue. We have a private footpath that takes you from the Hotel, past our Farm and right to the entrance of the Ollantaytambo Fortress.
