Thank you for viewing and booking our Serenity studio apartment, above our detached shop/garage. It is in a private location in a quiet, secluded, wooded setting across from the main house. Thirty easy min from Fairbanks Airport. Ten min from North Pole and Santa Clause house. Five min from Eielson AFB. N-Lights viewing 16 min to Chena Lakes or Moose Creek bluff 9 min. The studio is located above the shop and the private bath is located downstairs within the shop/garage for guest use. Once you arrive you will be greeted by our bear at the beginning of the driveway...the large garage/shop will be to your right. While looking at the garage/shop your parking space will be the third bay door from the left. In between the Ohio State Buckeye sign and the Ohio State Buckeye flag. The entrance door is closet to your vehicle on the right hand side. Automatic lights will appear when you approach. After entering through the door, the door to the upstairs where the studio is located will be to the back of the room (to the right of the shoe rack and coat tree). The private, guest bathroom is located to the left of the studio door downstairs in the garage/shop area with an automatic light. Exciting news for those that are here due to an Airman stationed at Eielson AFB--we are only 5 minutes away from the gate and the opportunity to spend all the quality time you possibly can in a relaxing environment. Time to relax in this Studio Apartment equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, Keurig, reclining couch and comfy bean bag seat. Grab a throw blanket from the map trunk by the bed and cuddle up. There is a dart board and games available for your entertainment when you wake from your nap. Located outside near the entrance door is a blue charcoal grill (charcoal located in the black boxes by the firepit) with utensils for a yummy gilled item. The firepit and play area is available for our guest's enjoyment. Items for relaxing by the firepit can be found in the black boxes by the chairs. There are available outdoor games as well such as cornhole, kanjam, sleds, bikes, kayaks...ask your host for availability. As of 27 March we have listed a 7 passenger rental vehicle on T*U*R*O 2016 Dodge Durango (red) The studio apartment is your home away from home. Please make yourself comfortable. The studio apartment was originally created as Vince’s “man cave.” We made this available for our guest(s) to experience Alaska and most importantly a place to be close to your Airman. You will find that we have decorated with “man cave” items. Please! Admire the items from afar, Please do not touch! Please walk around the property. Please refrain from going on the deck, going in the green house, going in the main house, or any closed doors. Vince and I will be respectful of your privacy but are available to answer any questions about the area or Alaska in general. At the beginning of the booking, in preparation of you and your guests arrival there may be many conversations via Air BnB messenger. We ask our guest to turn on notifications and/or check their Air BnB messenger for important updates. Once you and your guests arrive we will do a message check in the following day after your arrival and one final one the evening prior to check out. Of course, you are welcome to message us as needed. Our neighborhood is Alaskan country living, secluded and wooded. From the Richardson Highway (southbound) turn left into Moose Creek. Take your first right (now on Old Richardson Highway). Turn left on to Baker Road, first right is Eastern, at the end turn left on Mildred...second house on the right where the bear is (not a real one). Turn right in the driveway. The detached shot/garage with studio apartment is to your right. While looking at the shop/garage drive your vehicle in front of the last (right) bay door between the Ohio State Buckeye sign and flag. The “man door” is to your right by the Ohio State Buckeyes flag. Or use GPS -put in North Pole as city though. Please note the map noted on this site shows our home in the city of North Pole. We are located 10 minutes south of North Pole. Our family lives in the nearby area so you may see them dropping by or entering the left side of the shop/garage area borrowing things. They understand to respect your privacy during your stay with us. Sunday evenings we usually have them over for a few hours. The studio is located above the shop area. During your stay you may hear machines start, garage door(s) open/close, man doors open/close, or movement in the shop. We do our very best to be respectful of your quiet time. Please let us know of concerns. The maximum amount of guest is 4 in the studio apartment and only booked guests are permitted within the residence and property. There will be an additional 200.00 per extra person over 4 charged to the booking guest. Security cameras are in use within the garage/shop area entrances and clearly marked with camera in use sign. Cameras are not in use in Air BnB section of the building-studio or bathroom. There is a security camera attached to our home for our visual use of the driveway and main house door. We want our guest to feel welcomed and comfortable during your stay. Booking with us is an agreement between the host and guest to include the guest accompanying the person booking our Air BnB. SHOES: Please remove shoes when entering the residence and place them on the shoe rack provided. REASON: Doing so decreases snow/wetness and mud from being tracked on the rugs and possibly on your clean socks. If the lights go out or fire occurs our guest are not scrambling or tripping over shoes. SMOKING: NEVER permitted inside the residence, by open windows or doors. Cigarette butts are the smokers responsibility to discard in safe manner. Cigarette smoking ONLY is permitted by the firepit area, again it is the smoker's (and booking guest's) responsibility to discard of the butts in a property manner. Leaving them in the firepit is not acceptable MARIJUANA SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON OUR PROPERTY. If cigarette smell or marijuana smell is noted in the shop/garage area there may be an additional cleaning fee of $300 to the booking guest. Booking with us is an agreement you will not smoke marijuana on our property. REASON: The host do not want to have lingering smoke smell in our residence for ourselves and future guest. We and our guest enjoy a tidy area and prefer not to have to look at your butts on the ground. CHECK OUT: We have a strict check out policy. CHECK OUT IS 1100 of your departure date. We understand special circumstances may arise but this is to be communicated the evening prior to check out not the morning of departure. The booking guest is responsible for their guest to be out by 1100. There is a 100.00 late check out charge REASON: We may have guest checking in on this day. The guest may have requested early check in and we want to complete the cleaning in a timely manner to honor their request. The host may have to coordinate cleaning around their busy schedule. ELECTRICITY: Please keep lights turned off if not in the room you are in. Please do not open windows while the heat is on. Do not leave doors open for extended periods. When leaving the residency for long period of time turn the heat down. In residency with garages ensure the door is completely closed. REASON: We have low Air BnB pricing rates. We want to keep these prices low for our guest. Our guest can help by following the above house rules. GUEST BOOKING: In our booking we have established two rules regarding guest booking. First one is the number of guest booked. Only booked guest are permitted on the property. If the number of guest booked is not correct or any additional guest come to the residence the booking guest must notify the host. There is an additional charge for guest booked over the maximum allowed guest. Please ask host before booking for amount. This will be charged to the booking guest. SECOND RULE: No events or parties permitted no additional guest on the premises is permitted. REASON: The host have certain amount advertised beds with linens for our guest to sleep on. Limited bathroom linens. These linens are cleaned after each bed used. REASON: No parties or events because this is a quiet neighborhood and nice residence for our future guest.
