The surrounding communities of Anna, Alto Pass, Cobden and Makanda offer a variety of artisan shops, antique and unique specialty stores, as well as locally owned restaurants and taverns, many of which offer live music for the enjoyment of their guests. We recommend the services of several area transportation companies. Amtrak offers train service into Carbondale, and many area companies are available to transport you from the train to Rustle Hill, so you don't have to drive at all if you like! Particularly from Chicago, the train offers a less expensive and far less stressful means of travel for many of our guests. There are several transportation services locally, as well as an Enterprise rental office in Carbondale and several rental agencies at the Williamson County Airport, 20 miles away.
