Private cabin in the woods available for weekend getaways or week long vacations. Situated on 9 acres and it is perfect for families or intimate groups. Sleeps 6+. House is fully stocked with everything you would need. Relax and enjoy the quiet of the woods. This home is within walking distance of a horseback riding lesson facility. Take advantage of the proximity and enjoy some riding. We also offer overnight horse boarding for riders who want to bring their own horses. Enjoy scenic Hudson Valley from our lovely, rustic, home in the woods. Tucked away on a secluded private road yet still close to town, shopping, historic sites, art museums and hiking (see below.) A wonderfully communal cabin, perfect for group get-a-ways. The open floor-plan ensures you're connected to your fellow guests wherever you are in the house, making for a lot of laughs and memories you'll never forget! Firewood is provided for the fireplace in the living room. The house gets beautiful sunsets through the trees and in the winter a nice view of Schunnemunk Mountain. The kitchen may not have stainless steel appliances, but it's well equipped for accommodating large groups. The master bathroom features a huge whirlpool tub, a doorless walk-in two-person shower, two sinks and a huge wall mirror. The picture windows in the master bedroom lets you wake up to amazing views of nature. If you are looking for a hotel-like experience or are super picky, this is not the place for you. This cabin is private and serves as a relaxing getaway location. The house is professionally cleaned in between bookings and landscaped weekly or as needed by a service. Activities Horse Farm: We operate a horse farm within walking distance from this house. You walk a trail through the woods to see the horses during your stay, or we can arrange a riding lesson for your group ahead of time. Please let us know if you're interested in riding when you book. (We can also do pony rides for the little ones! Hiking: You can hike in the woods by the house or the many trails up Schunnemunk Mountain, Storm King and Mt. Beacon that are very close. For the more adventurous, Minnewaska State Park is less than an hour away and features rock climbing, swimming, and gorgeous overlooks. Museums: Within 5 miles are Washington's Headquarters, New Windsor Cantonment, Museum of the Purple Heart, Knox Headquarters and West Point Military Academy is 12 miles. Storm King Art outdoor sculpture center is 3 miles away and Dia Art Museum, a 27 acre museum is 12 miles away in Beacon. Shopping: We are 11 miles from Woodbury Common Fashion Outlets and just a short 5 minute drive from several grocery stores. We also operate a farm nearby where we raise organic vegetables, pasture raised poultry, eggs, maple syrup and honey. If you would like we can stock some of our seasonal products for you to cook during your stay in the refrigerator. Just let us know when you book! Restaurants/Vineyards & Breweries: We are lucky to have some wonderful restaurants within 5 minutes of the home. If you are looking for more scenic locations, the Newburgh Waterfront is only 10 min away. You can take a river cruise dinner or enjoy eating at any of the 10-12 restaurants right on the waterfront. Brotherhood Winery (the oldest winery in the US) is about 15min from the home as well as Palaia Vineyards. If you are looking to visit some breweries, Newburgh Brewery and Angry Orchards are also nearby. We are very proud of our home. We have been told over and over again it has incredibly peaceful energy and has been restorative to our guests who stay there and often come back again and again. Guests have access to the entire house. The loft master bedroom has a king size bed. There are two other bedrooms, one with a full size bed and the other with 2 twin beds. We can provide roll-away cots for up to 2 additional guests. The house is at the end of a private road and tucked in the woods. Noise definitely carries. We ask all guests to be mindful of neighbors and noise level. We are about a mile or so from the Salisbury Mills/Cornwall train station as well as the Vails Gate bus stop coming from Port Authority. Convenient for City guests looking for a quiet getaway and also for out of towners to take a day trip into NYC. Stewart International Airport is also a quick 10min from the home. This house has served as the perfect and convenient retreat for families/friends meeting up from all around. Due to the house's location, you may encounter deer, turkey, rabbits, snakes, coyotes, squirrels, bees, bears, raccoons & more. We pride ourselves on never using insecticide inside the home to control pests. We keep up with natural pest deterrents and they work quite well. We do asks guest to be mindful not to attract large animals or pests by leaving food out. We like to have a sense of who will be renting the house and why you are coming to the area. Please be sure to include the last name when you sign up for Airbnb, and please tell us who will be staying at the house, including the number of adults and children, and the ages of children. We really appreciate hearing a bit about you, your travel plans, etc. You do not need to bring sheets and towels. All sheets and towels will be freshly washed for your arrival. The house itself will be professionally cleaned for your arrival and will be professionally cleaned upon your departure. We ask that you kindly leave the house tidy and put dishes in the dishwasher and turn on the dishwasher when you leave. Group gatherings: Although we do love and welcome small groups to enjoy the cabin this is not a location for college parties.
