Comfortable renovated apartment with two spacious bedrooms situated in the heart of Minca within walking distance to all major attractions and restaurant, ideal for families and couples. Perfect for exploring the sights and surroundings of the Sierra Nevada Piedmont. The apartment is composed by an entrance with a wide door, two bedrooms each with a modern bathroom and hot electric shower. One of the bedrooms with a nice terrace and a view of the city soccer field, the other bedroom with a large dressing room. Kitchen with all comforts fully equipped, dining area with a counter-top with rustic industrial bar stool chairs. A living room with two sofas, one is a sofa bed. Laundry room with washing machine, clothes sink and wall mount clothesline. We will provide you with one or two set of keys on arrival. I am always contactable and can help guests via phone or email with questions about the house, Minca, things to see and do, I try to be present to welcome guests. You can drop off your luggage before check in time while place is being cleaning. I am usually in and around Minca and can come back to the house if you need me. This is a lovely place to stay to experience the happy mayhem of a Colombian village and within easy reach of Santa Marta for crafts markets and good restaurants in the evening. The tiny town of Minca, Colombia isn’t on the typical Colombian backpacker trail. Perched on top of a mountain in the Colombian Sierra Nevada overlooking Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea, with a population of 800+, Minca feels a bit isolated. But at only 45 minutes away from the much more popular coastal town of Santa Marta, and only 5 hours away from bustling Cartagena, Colombia, it is well worth the detour. If you are planning a trip to the northern coast of Colombia, you’ll want to include Minca in your itinerary! Situated right in the heart of Minca so there are neighbors but as well surrounded by lush secondary growth rainforest, with the sounds of exotic birds and howler monkeys in the distance. With uncrowded nature trails, waterfalls, jungle scenery, this is the perfect location for exploring the piedmont of the Sierra Nevada. Off the beaten track, yet only 12 km/7.5 miles from Tayrona Park and beautiful beaches The region is beautiful and is best explored on hiking or motorbikes. There is a mototaxi collective in Minca called Motomink which has organized themselves greatly in the last couple years, including fixing their prices. Look for the drivers in the blue and black jackets, they will charge you the set price and have insurance/mechanical checks. They hang out before the yellow bridge in the center or town. The prices of the different destinations in and around Minca are visible on a board in their office. The climate is tropical in Minca, it has significant rainfall most months, with a short dry season. The Köppen-Geiger climate classification is A (tropical).
