Hudson Highlands Base Camp

This vintage beauty is tucked away in the woods, near trail heads for spectacular hikes in the Hudson Highlands. Bull Hill, Breakneck and Mount Beacon are all accessible from here. Yet only a 20 minute walk (uphill) from Cold Spring Metro North station and 10 minutes from all shops. No car needed for this adventure. This 34 ft. land yacht is the perfect retreat. Full kitchen, bath/shower, heat, hot water and WiFi The camper is a '84 Excella34 Airstream. It is mostly original except for the sleeper couch, which we replaced with a full size bed (with a very comfortable mattress). It comes fully equipped with bedding, towels, etc... In addition to the kitchen there is a charcoal grill for outside grilling. You have your personal space around the camper, complete with a fire pit, a picknick table and hammocks, surrounded by woods and a Burning Bush forest. We will be your friendly neighbors, available to help, but respect your privacy. We're here to make sure you have a great stay! Easy access to Nelsonville Foot Path and Bull Hill! 20 min walk to train . 10 min walk to Cold Spring Village full of restaurants, bars, groceries, wine shop! The Campsite is a 20 minute walk from Metro North Cold Spring station. When arriving at Half Moon Ridge go past the driveway to the house. Just after the barn on your left there is a path through the woods up to the Airstream. If you arrive by car you can drive up and park right by the campsite Village Taxi Cold Spring Taxi (845) 265-TAXI For those who like to camp during winter months, please note that when temperatures are below freezing there may be no running water available in the Airstream. An ample supply of fresh well water will be available in jugs. You will still be able to use kitchen and bathroom although a hot shower will be impractical.
