Cabina on river,3 mins to Islita beach,clean/quiet
This apartment is located in the small and unique town of Islita. It is very private and secluded. It is located on the back of the property under our house. It has views of the river and forest. The river flows June to Dec. and is a major bonus! It is a 3 min. drive to the tranquillo Islita beach. The space is newly built and is clean, comfortable, safe and organized. You have all the necessities for your stay. Coffee, stove, towels, bedding, and we have reliable internet & TV. This space has endless perks! The famous boutique Hotel Punta Islita is also located in the valley. If you stay with us you have access to the hotel pool (if you eat lunch there) as well as the hotel tours. Horseback riding, zip line, bird watching, turtle expedition and kayaking! Just ask me and I can arrange it for you. We also have great fishing and I can help arrange a fishing tour as well. There is a Scarlet Macaw breeding center in the valley and they have released 30 Macaws into the wild in Islita! You see them every day flying around and eating nuts from the beach trees. It is really special! We also have many families of howler monkeys that can be heard as well as seen and the more elusive white faced monkey. You can walk around the island at low tide and for the more adventurous you can even swim through a tunnel to the other side of the mountain. Just make sure you make it back in time. When conditions are right there is great beginner surfing in Islita and Christian will be there with boards to rent and lessons. Camaronal beach is a short drive away. The waves are famous for intermediate or advanced surfers depending on the conditions. It is also famous for turtles who come to lay their eggs! My father was a local healer and I have continued with that tradition. I have worked in the hotel for 20 years as a massage therapist. I can offer your group massages in the apartment with my very comfortable massage table. Many guests at the hotel have told me I give some of the best bodywork they have ever had, which makes me so happy to hear. I offer the massages for $65 for one hour per person. I also love to cook! I am more than happy to cook your group a typical Costa Rican breakfast for $7 a person. I can also do laundry in my home for you for an additional cost of $3 per wash load. Islita has a very special place in to our family heart. It´s a vivid town quiet and safe where all people know each other. the community is surounded by Nature and incredibles landscapes. here you will enjoy the rich diversity of flora and Fauna that Guanacaste province can offer to you. besides that in town you can find the tipical grocery store (Pulperia), local art museum, local bars and restaurants of costarican food, as well as the soccer field for the afternoon match known as Mejenga and tha Catholic Church for mass on saturdays, we´re located just a minutes from the most important beaches of this area. Just 20 years ago it was a very long and arduous albeit exciting journey to get here. Many cars and ATVs were lost to the river! However, now it is much easier to arrive here. It takes only 2.5 from Liberia international airport and about 4 hours from San Jose international airport. I will send you directions via email after you book. Most of the road is paved although at the end there is still a portion of dirt road. The river runs June to Dec. and is really family friendly. you can hear it from the apartment and it is great to sleep to the sound of it. In the dry season there sometimes is no water but the trees remain green and fresh. The space currently has a ceiling fan. It stays comfortable because it is in the shade all day and not under the blazing sun. We are hoping to install A/C sometime next year, although guests don't feel it's necessary. You can park on the street right by our house. The town of Samara is just half an hour north but it feels worlds away. However you can get everything you need there on your way to Islita. There is a meat shop (ask for the German restaurant and it is behind that). Next to there is the vegetable shop. There is an organic store to get things like almond milk, yummy high quality chocolate, homemade banana bread, etc. Next to that is a homemade ice cream shop! There are also banks, and a proper supermarket (although the quality there is not always great). If you ask around you will also find someone selling fresh pescado (fish) the Red Snapper is really good here. Our house and street are safe and we are home a lot, but please be careful about your belongings. Never leaving things in your car when going to various beaches.
