Victorian Villiage #5 is a loft-style studio with eclectic cottage decor. Lake Huron and Mackinac Island are visible from this charming lakefront property. The Victorian Village was built in 1989 as a commercial property and today is a mixed-use building managed by Northern Michigan Vacation Rentals. #5 features a 15-foot vaulted ceiling and a large picture window in the sleeping nook. Guests have access to the entire space including living/sleeping area, kitchen/dining, and bathroom. I live/work on Mackinac Island and am generally available during the day if guests need anything. I am not available after the ferries stop running, typically around 9pm. Victorian Village is located across the street from the Mackinac Straits Health System, and is just one mile from Shepler's and Star Line ferry docks. Victorian Village was a commercial development in the late 1980s that has been converted to mixed-use. About half of the units are residential and the other half are business. Parking is available onsite at the Victorian Village. Shepler's and Star Line ferries both have shuttle services on request that can pick up or drop off. Contact the ferry lines directly to find out more. The nearby Kewadin Casino also has a shuttle service. You can also ride the St. Ignace Trolley, which stops at all common destinations (including the ferries, casino, and downtown museums); the trolley runs continuously and the nearest stop is the Baymont hotel just one block from Victorian Village. For cab service, Straits Taxi is the best bet. Several of the other properties at Victorian Village are commercial and maintain regular business hours during the daytime on weekdays. St. Ignace is a rural area in the Upper Peninsula and there is abundant wildlife near Victorian Village. The property is situated almost directly on the waterfront and there will be insects on and around the outside of the building in June, July, August, and parts of September. The interior is clean and free of bugs, but you can expect to see some mayflies and the occasional spider on the door and stoop.
